Wow. I've set up my T68i and Palm m515 to work like a charm using Bluetooth. Thanks Palm. Thanks SonyEricsson. Anyway...
...being a Palm software designer, I'm disappointed to see that there's no BlueTooth (or IRdA) software to actually synchronise these two devices without intervention of a PC! If there would be enough uptake, I'm more than willing to make some software that does the following:
Devices:
T68 (all versions) and Palm > OS 3
Capabilities:
- Sync SMS, Contacts and Calendar Entries
- Send 101x80 Logos/Screensavers
- Send Ringones of RTTL, .emy or .mid formats
- Easy connect/disconnect to many net profiles (e.g. GPRS/GSM)
- Palm has theme editor/uploader
Possibilities:
- Play the T68 multiplayer games against the palm :-S
If anyone is interested in the project, or have any suggestions/help (mainly needed on T68 side) please get in touch/leave messages. The software should be up and running before I have to go back to school in September. Whatever the case, I'll keep you posted.
Thanks in Advance,
Darren

Have a look here: http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?prodID=4872
This product used to be DI27 which worked like a charm on old Ericsson phones for SMS management and Phone Book synchronisation. On the T68i the SMS facility is not fully compatible in that synchronisation with the phone's larger memory does not work, I don't know if it has been fixed with the new product (called GSM Tool) but it does work with many more phones now.

Oh, and these guys have a Palm utility that will allow you to download and create EMELODY ringtones and background images for the T68i: http://www.funnysoft.org/
They also have the Esato T68 image library on Palm for you to beam to your phone (although it's pretty big).

I have the same setup as darrenjanin. I would love to try out that software you're planning to make. As of now, I just use funSMS3 for sms.

I wish there was a better software capable of coverting jpeg to a 101x80. Phone face converts it to gif and the correct size but quality is poor.

Sounds like a possible inclusion to me! Thank you for the response with softwares - I've had a play, and it seems that they are (no offence) jack of all trades and good at none. I feel by designing software specifically for the T68 and Palm OS, including bluetooth access, it would at least help me - if not a few others with T68(s) and Palm(s).
There must be some of you out there!!! |

Hmm, it's all going ok, i've got the software working in a really basic form, using infrared. My next step is to make it more userfriendly and incorporate bluetooth. Any tips, anyone? More suggestions? Please post a reply....

On its way, my friend. I got alcohol and school to contend with also. Should be final by late-September. By the way, if anyone is available to test the IRdA only beta, please leave messages on here... Cheers.

Interesting.
But I hope you can make it compatible with the T39 too. |

I heard from the 'New T68i Website' thread that you need a place to host your software...
I got 40mb to spare... if you are interested pm me! |
