Hi!

I got a Z600 yesterday, and have a problem!
Every time it checks my mail, for example every 30 minutes, the sms-sound rings and the outer display tells me there's a new message! But there isn't, and this is really annoying!!

Anyone heared of this problem? It happens with all my three different mail-adresses! My T610 never had this problem!! [addsig]

Go to Messaging/E-Mail/Options/Edit Account (chose the one u use for ur email connection)/ SELECT/Check interval/ OFF.

U have to set it to off, so the mail won't be verified automaticly, just manually when u need it to. The message is cuz u have it set to "30 minutes check" and the email actually DOES that and of course, tells u what he found out!
If he says it`s a new message and it ain't , that`s cuz he reads ur last message maybe, or it`s an error. It`s not important, just that if u set it to off uit won't bother u!
It`s not THAT hard to press2 buttons to see if u have mail;-)
Hope this helps!

I know how to turn it "off", but why should I have to when the should be able to check my mail automaticly? It worked for a little while, and suddenly it just crashed and told me there is a new mail even if there isn't!

I'm going to get a firmware-upgrade of the phone tomorrow, and that will hopefully solve it, but if not, I'll demand a new phone!! [addsig]

If you are collecting your mail via POP3, download the mail to your PC so there are no messages on the server. Delete the email account off your phone, then put it back on. Do a send/receive and that should solve things.

Agree with anb. It should work. I have tried last idea with deleting account off phone and resetting it up, worked for a while then back again. Must be a better explanation other than to turn auto checking off. The point of it is to be able to have your phone checking your email all the time without any prmpting and advise when you have an email. Example I setup my Outlook rules to say for particular clients to forward the email to my phone. That way I know when they need something sorted.

Does anyone else have some further ideas?

anb? How did your software upgrade go?

I have software R5B001 and my Z600 still keeps telling me there is email waiting when autocheck is turned on.

Any of you who managed to solve it?

The workarounds mentioned here only work for a short while, then it keeps telling me thereīs mail waiting again.

do you delete your mail off your server after you read it on your phone? Because if you don't, it will keep seeing those messages on the server imho.

Yes I do! There is absolutely no mail on my server and the phone keeps telling me there's new mail when auto-check is turned on. Itīs just the display on the outside that says so though, there's no message beep or message on the inside screen. Very weird. Following the above mentioned solution only works for a while, then the same problem.

I have another weird problem that I suspect is a software problem too. Could you test it please and then post your result? Read topic please: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=52051

Thanks
