Well, I finally got my T610 (switched from a T68i) and of course I'm trying to get used to it.

One big thing that's bugging me now. Whenever I receive a call, the ringtone volume is VERY low and then gradually starts to increase. The increasing ring option is off in the phone's settings so what is it? Any ideas how I could fix it?!

Thanks!

It's a bug I believe....I've not heard of any way to get that to stop.

Its not a bug its a design feature, the theory being to protect your ear from sudden loud noises!

At least, if you are in a meeting, you will have the chance to answer that call before the ringing gets too loud and distracts everybody in the room.

I still wish SE would give us the option to really turn it off. :/

Yeah i know, but I can still hope cant i? Maybe we should do a mass petition and send it to SE's CEO to show how strongly we feel about this.

feel free to express your thoughts in a petition but remember there have been many petitions to and I have not heard of one that actually worked. The most famous is the SonyEricsson T68i upgrade to enable Java which currently has 4224 signatures but did we get java in T68i?

Well, java is like putting in a new furniture, whereas increasing ring is just like flicking a switch. Oh well, just a thought.

I really don't understand the point of this!

How exactly is SE protecting us with this?!?!!! WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU HAVE YOUR PHONE IN YOUR EAR IF IT'S NOT FOR TALKING OR LISTENING TO VOICE MESSAGES??!!! Cause if that's why you have it in your ear and someone's calling you then the ringtone will not go on, right?!

what you are saying seems valid and is what people have said on numerous other threads but still it doesn't seem logical... and the fact that they have stopped doing this on the Z600 makes you wonder even more

Because of t610 is designed so that the ring siggnal comes from the same speaker u put next to your ear and listen your partner..

its possible to damage your hearing..

I dont know but maby clamshell (speaker is covered while shell is closed) has 2 speakers..

and those who whine.. who would put phone next to ear while standby..

I say I put... I hav done it numerous times..

why??
I do schearch contact.. and my old habit is to click yes on contact and put the phone next to my ear.. offten i forget to click call..
and that behavoure is originated since i used t28 and older phones where there were only one number per contact
with t610 i havto click call one more time.. and i simply just forget it 1 time out of ten..

The Z600 has a seperate speaker (which is very loud) on the backside of the phone, it's totally seperate AND on the other side of the phone to the ear piece.

Imagine a scenario (true this isn't very likely but still). You've just lost your friend on the phone and you're going "Hello? Hello?" trying to see if you can hear them, putting your finger in your other ear listening carefully. Your friend then rings back (as you're listening for him). It comes full volume, full pelt, right into your earhole.

I'd be glad to have that feature too, because in that scenario it could have saved my hearing.

This feature really is annoying. I dont see any other brand fone having this feature, so have the users of all these fones gone deaf? I miss so many calls becuase of this. So someone from SE please switch this feature off.
