Someone nicked my P800 this morning! |

I'm so
Some stupid sodd nicked my phone straight out of my pocket this morning!
Sitting on the bus, on my way to work, I was scrolling throug Esato as I allways do.
Time to get off; I stick the phone in my pocket, yes I know I put it in my pocket, and whilst walking along the pavement I realise it's gone!
In a matter of 30 seconds I find myself without a phone. Without my P800!!!
First thing I do is ask to borrow the phone in the kiosk I pick up the daily newspapers every morning to call my network provider, NetCom, and get them to lock the SIM.
After getting into the office I call the incuranse company to report my phone stolen. I get in touch with a lovely sounding and very helpful lady. (Thanks E****, I know you'll be reading this ) She asures me that this will all be OK by the end of the day today. A new P800 has been put aside for me at GSM-Senteret here in Oslo as well.
The most annoying thing about having your phone nicked is really not the fact that I'm without a phone, when the incurance is as reliable as the one I have, but the loss of data! All my contacts are gone, all my diary entries are gone and all the apps in it has gone! (Pics of the kids, polyphonic ringtones and so on... as well!)
I can hear the question coming... "Didn't you do a backup?"
My PC broke down and is still at service and will be blank(!) when I get it back so; No, it's all lost!!!
As late as last night I tried to sync it to my laptop with no luck...
All in all I'm just happy i will get a new phone this afternoon. Feeding in all the contacts and appointmens will take a bit of time but...
The bottom line to all this will be:
Make sure you have a good incuranse on your phone! It's worth it!
PS
To the pratt head who now has my phone: You can only use it as spare parts because it's all locked up!!!
And now you know who you nicked it from as well: The nicest guy in Esato!
Hope you get hit by a tram!

Wrong timing ! A month later and maybe you would have got the P900 instead of he P800 -
Which strikes a question - will the P800 be discontinued or will it sell along side the P900???? |

Did you report the IMEI to your service provider? They may block it's access to the network as well, still worth doing.

production already has been discontinued. Apparently no new units will be supplied to stores, at least not in the UK.
So I guess (well... I hope would be a tad more accurate) is paving the way for the P900

Hey tranq, sorry to hear you lost all your contacts! But at least now when you are going to sell the P800 to get a P900 you may get more for it, since it is brand new!

oh mate... I can't believe it... thats such bad luck. There are some pretty terrible people out there.
Still, sounds like the insurance company came through pretty quick so all's well that ends well... as well as it can end when you have lost the content that you have.
makes me very angry when I hear things like this though...

@tranquil: Did you have the "idiot-insurrance" with netcom? The most expensive one? Do they really give you a new phone so quickly?
