I got a Voda branded T610 a few days ago and have enjoyed playing about with all the things it can do! I've got it controlling winamp through a virtual serial port and "Pc Control". I have a couple of questions though.
I'd like to be able to access my Blueyonder & Yahoo mail accounts, but need some advice on how to do this? At the moment the phone just says - "finding server" for blueyonder then times out.
Also - where can I get a Bluetooth patch for Windows XP so that I can work BT Control and other programs like that? At the moment I'm not getting the "wireless devices" in control panel.
Really enjoying the phone, just need a little more help getting the best out of it. |

Hi and welcome to Esato! first just let me say you only need to ask questions once since most people read all forums here.
In regards to the first problem. Almost always this problems relates to you using your WAP data account for the email client instead of your internet data account so check your settings and make sure you are using the correct data account. In the case of vodafone you need to use the data account which has the APN of internet. If your phone did not come setup with that then just create a new GPRS data account and the only thing you need to set is the APN to this value.
Then in messaging, email, options, edit account, , connect using... make sure this is using that internet data account.
Not to sure about the second problem so you might like to say what bluetooth device you have and perhaps someone can help or do a search with the name of the bluetooth device as possibly someone has had the same problem and been answered!
Enjoy your T610!

Go to Windows Update to install SP1 which will support Bluetooth for XP. But, you will need to use the Microsoft BT USB driver (BTHUSB) to make your dongle to work with XP.
However, you can still use "BT Control" even without using Microsoft XP BT support. Just make use of the 'Serial Port Profile'. Go get the latest 'BT Control' ver 3.40 which use serial comm port, establish a bluetooth serial port connection to T610 with your existing BT stack (eg: My Bluetooth Place) and then connect the 'BT Control' using that connected port number will do. |

You may also get "Can't find server" error, if you didn't enter a DNS Server in your Data accounts
The WinXP BlueTooth patch usually follows with the drivers for the bluetooth device...

thanks for the help guys.
Now I have email receieving from blueyonder, and BT control working over a virtual serial port. What kind of data transfer speeds are you guys getting? I'm finding only 5-6kb/s?
Is that right, cheers. |

I'm only getting 6kb/sec too. The max-limit of BT is about 732kbps, but of course most devices won't be able to utilize it all yet. Though I did expect somewhat higher speeds.
