Siemens just confirmed that the SX1 will be further delayed. Preliminary dates are set to october. This is information from the information officer Titti Hagenfeldt at Siemens i Sweden. So i guess it might be out around christmas or around the same time as the Nokia 6600. So please people STOP comparing the SX1 to any phone being released to the market in april or may, 6 months ahead of it. I have always found it strange that Siemens would be able to launch a more advanced model than Nokia even though they buy the technology from Nokia. And, as we now can see, they could not. Still, it is looking to be a very intresting phone, but not that extreme as it looked when it was presented 6 months ago.

You are completely right...
I wrote that SX1 would be delayed form may...
but official speakers of Siemens insist that SX1 will be launch in end of July or August. For instance, Lothar Pauli said it in end of June in interview with me...

It was official statement, and Lothar don't said true about launch date.

It's very strange position for so big company. Now, they are steeling fact that recall a large amount of SL55 from Europe due of hardware filrule (working only for one day in standby). To my request Siemens answer that haven't any problems with this model. All this is very strange for me. Why they need to said things that obviously not true.

@Eldar: it's just a matter of market and consumer manipulation. By saying that it will be released in July, they might have prevented a lot of people from buying, exempli gratia, the T610 and make them wait endlessly for the SX1.

I understand it, but Siemens made it too often.
They are put unofficial information before official launch and then people starting to discuss products, it isn't bad but shows weak position on the market.
a few months ago i wrote article about SE platform which implemented in Siemens S55. Company asked to remove this statement, I'm asked for any proves that this is own platform, reference design and said that put it oline, it would be official statement from Siemens. By now, I don't received any answer on it. I think that they don't want to give such answer.

It hurts to say but actually, so far Nokia have been very open and often correct about their launch dates. Though in my opinion Sony Ericsson have improved greatly. The T310 and T610 was launched almost exactly on time. And as far as i have heard from contacts within SE this will be the case in the future as well. And Eldar, you are absolutley correct about Siemens using Ericsson platforms. They use them in a lot of their products, i.e. S55. Another thing Eldar, i have three questions:

1. Will there be a P200, and if so do you have any info at all about that?
2. Will SE present any sports or rugged phones this year?
3. In your opinion how many phones will SE present in september?

Many Thanks in advance!

I guess Z600 is an exclusivity for Vodafone. It could be imposible to buy this product from another operator. Remember the Sharp GX10...

as far as I know SX1 will be delayed 3 months from the original release date (june). So.... what about P800? don't you remember what happened? And siemens is NOT using ericsson platform. where did you get the idea.. duh. they dont have to prove YOU anything. Why dont you write SE an email asking if they're using Siemens or Nokia or Samsung or whatever brand platform?? And then ask them to mail you proof of it!.... LOL

Hey man, take it easy. Is your daddy working for Siemens or what. This is a Sony Ericsson user firendly forum, you have to accept that people are bit biased towards SE. And the dicussion was not wether P800 was late to the market or not. And, actually the reason for that was because SE choose to implement Memorystick. I personally am not judging Siemens for being late, what i am trying to say is that you can not compare products that are on the market 6 - 8 months apart, because that is totalt different technologies. And, by the way, Siemens ARE using Ericsson platforms for some of its older phones, but not the new ones. Take it easy man, we are just discussing things here

I always take it easy
1. I compared to p800 because p800 was delayed for soooooooo long! but still, if needed, people were worshipping SE. yeah i know this is an SE forum... but please people don't just see whats in front of you...
2. I have no connection to siemens. Just like it. I also like SE. But I don't like some attitudes of some people that just talk without knowledge and think they're the centre of the universe.

OK, man peace then!

Still the SX1 is looking to be a hell of a phone. And since im from Sweden i would rather buy a Simens than a Nokia. But of course, being from Sweden, i would never buy anything else than Sony Ericsson
