I really hate that screensaver that appears on my t68m, If someone is not familiar with the phone and they try to unlock it (thats if keylock it activated) they will have a hard time to do this because the backlight stays off, only if u look really close it says press c and then yes to unlock. Does this happen to everyone ? Apart from that this phone rocks.

I was looking for a thread like this and completely agree! I use my T10s as my clock and have been using it with the light coming on. Because it has a flip however, I guess I didn't have to turn the keylock on. Anyway, the T68i is a good phone and I really enjoy it with the HBH-20!

Isn't it the same with all phones? The backlight surely wont turn on with Nokia phones regardless which key you press?(except the keylock deactivate key of course).

If you hit C, you get the backlight on and it tells you to press yes to unlock.

I for one do not want it to turn on the light every time a key is pressed, that is power draining, and kind of removes part of the point behind a keylock, doesn't it?

Actually, I only wanted the backlight to come on when I slide the volume button on the side. It obviously acknowledges the action as even with keylock on and backlight off, the screen still updates to tell you the status and date etc. As I use the phone as my clock/watch, I'd like to be able to tell the time even in darkness.

The clock is there to save battery.

If you have a problem with the key-lock -> turn it off...

A thing that would have been appreciated by some people is tobe able to turn off the clock-saver entirely, but with the contrast of the screen without backlight, that wouldn't be much use...
...with backlight coming on when pressing keys, the power issue is there again...

Personally, I like the clock!

I don't want to hijack Infantino's original post, but in answering orang3, I don't want to keep backlight on at all times because it's a drain! In answering jhb, I do need keylock on because I keep my T68i in my pocket, and I don't want to call or sms someone without me knowing!

I agree the backlighting shouldn't come on every time you press any key - if you're the T68 owner, you'll know you have to press "C" anyway.

All I'm saying is, despite keylock being on, the volume slider will still show you the "Status" screen, so why not for that one action, turn on backlighting? I can't always read the clock in the dark!

Broadbean: I couldn't agree more. When you press "c" the clock disappears and you have to unlock your phone to read the time and then you have to lock your phone again(yes automatic I know, but still, that's a few seconds delay).
I would like it to display the time as it is, and upon a specific keypress, the backlight would come on, and the time would still be displayed.
