To anyone with a T610 (UK) |

I have recently purchaced a T610 on T-Mobile in the UK, and I have to say it is a supurb phone. I have, however noticed some problems with the handset. Of course there is the notorious 'hissing' problem which is noticable on the phone (I changed the phone once because of this problem but it is still there on the new handset). Also I have noticed that when u select a ringtone, no matter which one, when someone call you, you hear a 'ring' before it actually starts playin the tone and it doesnt play at the corrcect volume it increases to the correct volume. I have checked all the setting and mad sure the increasing ring setting is off but the problem still occurs has any one else noticed this???
On the piont of the hissing problem, I spoke to Sonyericsson and I have to send the phone to them, they said they were aware of the problem, but as the phone is not 'offically available' in the UK I have to send the phone to them, and as of today they have a precidure to fix the problem once its been sent to them. |

The way it starts the ring signal softly and increasing it seems to be the way it is supposed to work, maybe to save your ears if you happen to have the phone close to you ear when someone calls you. I have found no way of disableing it either.
Also, when you change the ring signal volume you get a warning that high sound volumes might damage your hearing... Every time, even if you decrease the volume.

I too got my phone from T-Mobile direct. Same problem with the hissing and the issue with the ring tone. I have spoken to SE, and they have advised to send it in. I will be contacting T-Mobile to seek their advice. Also, my box had one T-mobile sticker which had been cut through, and an additional one over it. Did you have anything like that? |

I had the same thing with the double sticker, I was concerned about that as well, bith the T610 had 2 T-mobile stickers on it, the bottom one which looked to have been opened beforehand.

Mikey,
I think you and I are amongst the first to get the T610 on T-Mobile. Even the customer service people don't know that it has been released. The double sticker was a problem on my T68i too, but that phone had been used for at least 6000 joystick presses before I got it, so I returned it for a "virgin" model. I guess we are getting the test phones, which is a shame because they are not 100% OK. Let's hope SE sort out your problem and I get a working one from T-Mobile

The Double stickers is because when the phones go from SE to Tmobile they have no stickers so T-mobile put them on, then they get sent to dealerships head office who then have to open them make sure everything is in the box, add any extras ie GPRS Data or as in out shop they inform you now that the handset is GPRS and TZoned enabled then re stick it then send it out to Shops but the shops won't hold the stickers so you cannot really blame them about double stickers, on occasions you will only get one sticker if it is sent factory direct or tmobile did not stick them first time round.
We get hiss free batch of T610's on Thursday will let people know if they are hiss free or not. |
