Does anyone know if o2 actually charge for GPRS?

I have been using it on-off for the last 2months and never been charged for it (yet). I have checked my bill online to see if there is charges on my bill yet and no there isn't. Its fun getting stuff for free

o2 prepay haven't figured out a way to charge people yet and as such GPRS is free until we can charge you. Looking to be around June/July time.

Hah, you must be joking

Sadly enough o2 contract charges.

Buy yourself a prepay sim if you want it bad enough, I'm seriously considering it myself

Check its not included in your call plan - it is with mine. Apparently the exact price is 2p for the first GPRS page you look at then a penny a page.

just kidding. but your idea is quite good. if I got the pre paid card tomorrow I would save myself almost 2 months worth of gprs cost. how much is a prep card anyway?

@jalu

I have no GPRS plans added.

I am on off-peak tariff plus MMS at £20 per month
I have checked the GPRS part of my online bill and nothing ever appears. Thats been two months now.

I am not even charged for MMS's and the free trial is over long ago.

I don't what the problem fixed, its nice to have free internet and media messages.

Does anyone else have this

@jaka

you can get the prepay card for 9.99 from the online o2shop with 300free txt and 300 free WAP minutes

you can also get it at their student website http://shop.o2.co.uk for only 4.99

I have seen these SIM cards go for well over £30 sometimes on eBay. Those people that buy from there seem very stupid

@gatevital
I am on the o2 tariff from their shop

An important point: Buying a sim card online will put you on O2 ONLINE, which is different to normal o2.

I don't know how GPRS works on O2 ONLINE and it is very possible it could be different there.

Buying a normal sim card from a shop will put you on O2 UK and that will definitly give you free GPRS. That's £10 of your money too.

Get them from http://amber.smarttrust.com/O2UK/index.jsp . That's the site we (o2 member service) use to send them out.

Nothing against the sender but there's a chance they may be out of date.
