Hi !

Just thought Id let people know the problems I have had with Data Accounts on my T68i.

Everything was working fine until I bought a camera and did a master reset to clean my phone up.

I added GPRS and GSM WAP data accounts but when I switched off the phone both data accounts were lost ! I tested this on my girl friends phone and it seems that after a master reset no data accounts are left when you switch the phones off !

I returned both phones to the shop and they agreed that there appeared to be a bug. They gave us new phones and they do not loose data accounts when you switch them off (i have not had the guts to try a master reset on them yet)

Has any one else had this problem or do you have the disapering data account problem ?

You could always use the SonyEricsson Wap Configurator for the T68i on the SonyEr. website. They have settings for almost all networks in ANY country around the world. Therefore no more data acounts lost no matter what you do to your phone

Yep you can. But if you switch the phone off you will still loose those accounts and have to re-send them.

Oh and the sony ericson settings are incorrect for O2 GPRS !!! I think the IP is wrong and also the user/pass is in the incorrect place !

If any one wants the correct ones, O2 have mailed them to me this morning (and they work !!!)

Well, if it's O2 settings you need then you can use O2's own OverTheAir configurator at...

Resending them to your phone isn't exactly a hardship.. plus how many times do you need to Master Reset your phone anyway? I've only done it once and that was because I upgraded the firmware on it myself and it was necessary to try and avoid the flashing process from messing up the bluetooth

Plus it wasn't necessary to clear your phone of any existing data just because you bought either the MCA10/20/25

The new ones are fine. But they will go wrong when you do a master reset, after that they will not keep data accounts when switched on and off !

This has now happend to 4 of my phones (carphone warehouse are getting sick of replacing them now !)

That is exactly what had happened to my phone after resetting them. Thank God I am not alone. But until now, I haven't visited the store where I purchased it for replacement. Maybe after the holidays. Thanks. I thought my phone is the only one who is acting that thing. Where did you bought that phone of yours? At greenhills? Well I bought this on greenhills and it does have a warranty sticker on its battery and on its back and I am sure that they will give a new phone like yours. Thanks

I got all of mine from the car phone ware house. EVERY one I had after the master reset did this ! Really odd. Even tested 2 in the shop and they did the same thing so.... NEVER MASTER RESET !

Not sure how ti check the S/W version of my phone so cannot post it but its now happend on 5 of mine and the shop 2. Current ones I have are OK (im not risking the master reset this time!)

Unfortunately I did the master reset... found the problem... then found your post. Bad timing. So lets compare SW revisions:

I bought my phone in USA from T-Mobile and my firmware is:
R3E002
prgCXC125544
R3E002
prgCXC125545_TAE_R3_NAM

To check your firmware enter at the main screen:
>*<<*<* (where > means joystick push to right)
Service info -> SW Information

Ok, after a little more searching I think I found the answer... it is the stupid provider customization that does this. So hopefully the problem will go away as soon as I can flash my phone. Here is a link to a discussion that mentions this problem.

It is weird though that the problem only manifests itself after the first master reset. I still don't know quite how to explain that.
