Flash for MCA-20 Communicam |

Has anyone thought of making one?
I've realised how poor it is in low light, and have been considering adding my own flash to it.
There are plenty of disposable cameras that have flashes, or I could pick up an old camera.
The idea would be to place another momentary switch underneath the push button on the communicam. I would have a bit added to the communicam on the opposite side to the button containing the flash bulb the capacitor, plus a switch and the LED showing the flash is ready.
I take it the communicam takes power from the phone. If I could tap into that to get charge for the flash, then it might work.

If you make one and good results, i will buy one from you!
I don't understand why they can't have a flash already. I mean, i know they will suck the battery life down but camrea batteries are TINY! Why not have a camera battery in there instead of it leaching. People will say this will increase the size and the weight too much. But not if the camera uses a cable to attach to the phone and not just latch on to the bottom of it which i think is a dumb idea no matter hos small the camera, i mean, how many people LEAVE there mca-20 stuck to their t68???? So who cares if you have to connect it with a cable instead? |

Anyone got any technical diagrams of the communicam internals? |

This sounds like a brill' idea. Those diagrams should not be too hard to get a hold of now, there is nothing secret about the camera anymore. Keep it up and let up know how you get on.

the new siemens camera has a built in flash - so it is possible & very obvious - why wasn't it made with it to begin with??

I wonder how hard it would be to replace the socket on the Siemens camera with a socket from the MCA-20?. But maybe u need to make some sw changes to get it to work. |
