Since my last upgrade (to R2B025) I've had loads of problems - audio quality suddenly deteriorates, vibrator works intermittently, phone locks up... and it was soooooo slow. I took it into the CPW service centre round the corner from where I live (Finchley Road) and had to get a Trium temporary phone while it was being sorted (which was truly horrible - no wonder they only charge you £25 if you lose it Oh, and the ringer was broken on the Trium, so I kept missing calls. As they said it may be 4 weeks or Monday at the earliest, till my phone was sorted, I went in to get another Trium today. Imagine my surprise to find mine was fixed.
All they've done is an upgrade to R5D, but so far it seems to be fine. Text messaging is (for the first time) usable - much faster and more intelligent. Generally the phone seems a little faster as well.
Oh, and the volume button fell off ages ago, and CPW replaced it FOC (usually they charge apparently). But I did have to pay £15 for the honour of borrowing the Trium... on the whole very pleased with the service though. |

But surprise surprise, there is a bug. When texting, if you capitalise the first letter of a word, the next word defaults to capitals. D'oh! |

That is no bug. It has almost always been that way I think...
Tip: When you want to write a word with a capital in the beginning, first write the word and then you press * (when you se the pop-up menu with alternatives) to change the first letter to a capital one. The next word will then begin with a small letter. If you press * again all letters in the word will become capitals... and so on.

Just got my T68mi upgrade from R2d to R5d........here are the things I noticed :
-sms tone and ringtone does sounds louder !!!!!!!!!
-vibra does feel stronger !!!!!!!!! (not sure why would software upgrade would make vibra stronger)
-menu and call list is a little bit faster althought not much noticeable
-I can now use the sony ericsson MMS home studio v1.10 to transfer MMS I made on PC to my phone (the program needs R5c or above on T68 for it to be working )
-its little quicker on swiching on and off the phone
Here are the things i noticed on R5d !!!!!! |

I upgraded mine from R2E006 to R5D007 and the pairing problem with my HBH-30 is still there. Backround: I paired the headset with my T68(i) a couple of weeks ago and a week after that, I began to notice frequent bluetooth disconnections. I then tried to re-pair it with the phone hoping the problem would go away but unfortunately it did not. I also noticed that it took me some time to pair the headset (second time) because the phone cannot find the headset even if I resetted it a couple of times (from the HBH-30 manual)!
I then decided to upgrade the firmware to the latest one but still the problem persisted. Now, I'm at a loss because the Sony Ericsson service center here in the Philippines is telling me that they don't yet support the HBH-30 and it might take them a few months before I can get mine fixed. |

I think texting from one letter to the next is a bit faster in R5D007 compared to R2E when t9 is off. but yeah I do wish they'd bring back the right space by moving the joystick right once, like the older version. But it's more managable now. |
