my friend T68i is globe sim locked and its been blocked by NTC for some reasons and he's planning to just send it to canada, however he's not sure if it will work there since it is already NTC blocked?...

so.. is NTC blocked units will still work on other countries lets say it will be unlock for other carriers?...

If NTC blocks a particular phone (via IMEI), it means that phone has been reported as lost or stolen.

You must present acceptable proof of ownership to NTC if you want to unblock them.

it probably is stolen. is there some other reason why NTC should block phones?

You can tell if the UNIT is blocked if the screen says "Invalid Mobile". If calls don't get connected, and there's a voice that says the call is restricted or blocked... that means the guys hasn't paid his bills.

The unit can be unlocked by other providers in other countries... but they will most likely lock it to their own network as well.

To give theives a harder time, everyone, please enable your PHONE/DEVICE lock on your units. Even if you just set it to autolock so that it only prompts for a code when the SIM is changed. It may not be hack proof... but at least stupid thieves won't know what to do.
