Hi guys, need your help. Spent many hours searching web and trying different scripts versions - doesn't help.

Problem: T200 communicates only on 9600 bps via Palm or Macintosh. If I set port speed in Palm or Mac script over than 9600 (or even less) - it sends commands to modem but has no reply: finally dial number doesn't dial. It doesn't depend on what kind of dial I send - regular analogue provider's number or *99# for GPRS connection - it is all the same.

I read INF file of T200 Win driver carefuly. Surprise is that it says: "defalut speed is 9600". But somehow it communicates with the modem and sends dial correctly on any over speed - 57600 and even 115200. And I see the line in modem log (for example for 57600 speed set in modem properties): "57600, 8, N, 1, ctsfl=1, rtscl=2". It is not AT command - it's just a line in log. And I don't understand how to push modem to understand higher speeds with Palm/Mac...

Cables are OK (both unknown and DRS11 - doesn't matter, the same), scrpits are OK, I found even AT commands manual for T68 (don't think it has much differences). Can't see any else different in AT commands inside Win script versus Palm/Mac. It's as simple as below:

ATV1E0S0=0&D2&C1
AT+CMEE=1
ATS7=60
AT+CBST=0,,1
(AT+CGDCONT...blah-blah-blah)

Nothing unusual - traditional script for all.
Even if I add +IPR=57600 (or any other) - it still doesn't work, because I guess this set connection speed but not port communication speed.

So I broken my head on all these stuf... What to do???

P.S. Just checked Palm/Mac connection with T39m. It works on any speed!

Is that mean that T200 has bugs in its soft?:(...

The speed of the connection from PC to your phone via a serial cable should (or can) work faster than 9,600 baud. This will be evident for synchronising or sending files etc. to your phone.

The connection to your phone as a 'modem' however is probably limited to 9,600 baud because this is the default speed for GSM data (better known as CSD - circuit switched data) due to bandwidth limitations of GSM.

Some phones employ methods to speed up the dial-up modem connection to 14,000 or 28,000 baud using methods such as HSCSD but both phone AND the network must support this for it to happen (you will also need your provider to enable your account for data).

Otherwise, to gain a higher connection speed when using your phone as a modem to the internet (or VPN etc.) you will have to use GPRS. Again your phone, network and also your subscription must allow for this.

Sure, but I'm talking about Palm(Mac)-Phone serial communication speed not about internet Connection speed.

The problem is that even with GPRS connection it works only at 9600 rate - over serial port speeds cause to silence from phone. It won't dial GPRS number *99...

However it is start dialing fine on any port speed with T39 mobile...

... And I wrote to Ericsson support - hope they can help...

Again, this is some kind of "secret" inside T200 - see above - Windows INF file contains remark sounds like "default speed 9600" - but then something grow it up 115200 before dialing... But how?

Maybe too late to reply but i try...
usually the modem is resetted with a ATZ command (that restore settings
from the stored profile) when used by a computer...
try:
- connect to the modem with a terminal emulator at speed 9600 and type
AT+IPR=115200
- disconnect (not disconnect the cable only close the terminal without reset)
- reconnect to the modem with a terminal emulator at speed 115200
- to check correct speed type:
AT+IPR?
to store the profile type (if the previous returned 115200):
AT&W
- to check all... reset and check the speed:
ATZ
AT+IPR?

Note... some accessory can have problem to communicate at higer speed...
I found problems with the cam... if so you can use the same procedure to
store the old default speed (?9600?) in the profile...
