Hello all, i realy need help to use an IrDa sigmatel Y160 to connect a T68i. I'm running windows 98 and whould like to install all the S.E. softwares. I've already installed the IrDa whitch works correctly with my pc and phone, (t68i is recognised by PC) but no program recognise it. NO ONE works correctly, neither FMA or Christerssen. I know it's an old topic but i've spent many hours searching solution on esato forums, so if some one could help me... Thx

fMA only needs to know the correct port number that IR uses. Software from SE and christerssen, needs a properly configured Mobile Phone Monitor before they can work.

Try to be specific about the problem you're encountering.

Thx for reply GOwin. In fact, i can't be more specific than i was. I 've installed all the S.E. progr and no one works. Maybe i should set them correctly but i do not know the correct way to set them. Do you thing i could find a user manual about these progr somewhere? An other thing is i only have one usb, so i set all the drivers on com1, could it be a source of problm?

hmm ... it's possible. check your port settings to see which port is IR assigned to. It shouldn't be com1 since that's assigned to USB already.

First you have to check what com port (maybe a virtual one like COM7) was assigned to your IR device. And then, presuming you installed SE software, check if the "phone monitor" is listening to that port. Phone monitor is that <-//-> icon in Win 98 taskbar. Just right click on it.

Thx so much for advices guys, it's very kind of you helping me, and nice seeing i'm not alone in this maze! So, yesssssss FMA works now...but not yet the S.E. progr, neither christerssen backup. I've tcheked all the com port and you where right, i had to set it on port 5, so now that i did, should i set the S.E. prog on an other com, like com 1? Another thing is FMA don't accept pics upload. I'm now tcheking all the forums concerning that issue. What a job using connectik!! It my i ask you some other things later, i apologise. by.

for other SE proggies (and chisterssen programs), you need to configure MPM right to make them work.

for specific questions/discussions on FMA use this thread

you can send pics (or tones, etc) to your phone from fMA.

simply: FMA

you don't need anything else, it does it all.....
just make sure you have the latest version.
As for file transfering, i'm not sure whether FMA fully supports the T68i
checkout FMA website and dedicated FMA forum

Windows 98 assigns ports sequentially, so assuming you have nothing else plugged in it should be assigned to COM3. c
Check device manager to make sure everything is there and working properly.

MPM stands for Mobile Phone Monitor. It's the <-//-> icon on the taskbar.
