T68i Unlock - Do it Yourself - No Cable Needed?!?! |

Hi.
I was just wondering. Why isn't possible to have a small program which will calculate the necessary unlock code for a Sony Ericsson phone (or other) once you give it the phone's IMEI? I mean, if the algorithm is figured out by inputing IMEIs and their unlock codes then wouldn't just that be enough?! |

Does it unlock them without the use of cables?! Without the need to log on to a server where you have to pay for logs?! |

there's a way to unlock it manually without usign any cable. just do this: <**< and go to the menu whre the lock is located and input the 8 digit numbers (nck). also you may find no. 5 there, thats the number of tries for you to do that. it is very risky so don't just input numbers there.
problem is where to find the nck? it comes from se also. |

Well yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Why not just have the software calculate the NCK for you?! |

guys, i got this from a website
What is remote unlocking?
There are 2 types of remote unlocking, the first and the easiest is where you read the 15 digit serial number or IMEI number out to us over the phone and we calculate the code to type into the handset to unlock it. The second is a bit more difficult as you need to read a phone using a data cable connected to a computer and run a specific piece of software, the program will create a log file which is basically a small amount of data read from the phone, you then email the log file to us and contact us with payment. We will then calculate this log file and email it back to you so that you can load it into your phone and unlock it.
so they can calculate with some program somehow. this is what we need. it will save me 15 $ in unlocking fees |

I already know about remote unlocking since i've also upgraded the firmware on my phone with those kind of services, although it was some guy in america since he could offer the logs at half the price of most uk places. I was just curious about the email method but i guess its not too dissimilar.

There is a program, it reads needed data from ur phone and calculates proper code (as far as i remember it's even called "Ericsson reader"- looked very professional, it was placed in the e-shop next to ericsson flash kit with emma smart card reader) BUT , where i've seen it, costed about 300 euros (!!!)
BTW there are loads of programs like that free on the net, but only supporting old models

The first way of unlocking my phone is free? Do I just need to send the IMEI number to them?
