It worked!
R1A Vodafone Live hadset now without the pics and I have loads more space for MY images.
I couldn't remove the themes but thats not too bad.
I'm a happy man, it takes a while but it's well worth it.
Remember to backup your data + contacts first )

i had my vodaphone live removed by flashing the rom. done by nick at mobilexchange... 95% non voda branded now, except for the links that still take you to live sites.... at least all the icons are back to original.... just got a 7250 today, it's not that bad at all... except for the screen resolution/color... but still prefer my t610 to it... easier to do file transfer between pc to phone. unlike 7250, cos u need the pc suite to transfer files between XP to phone. |

Hi
as i played arround with my phone (R1L013) and this "get-the-branding-away-stepbystep instructions" i found out a much quicker and easier way to get rid of these branding-pictures. No need to fill up the memory...
1. do a master reset (so far so good
2. goto the display-settings and there enter the background picture- settings
now as there are no previews for all the pictures (you see the hourglass instead) the phone starts creating them... now quickly select the "branding" pictures (befor the preview picture is created) and when you select a picture the phone will say something like 'Unable to open picture. Delete?'. Just choose Yes and the picture is gone. Then select the next picture and so on.
thats all - worked for me... much easier without filling up the memory...

@majto
Can you delete everything, this way? Even the Vodafone screensaver?

It deleted every Vodafone and all predefined photos! I now have only 10 pics, all of which are MINE and that I want.

didnt work for me =(
R1L and vodafone
i still have 4 pictures (flower, ferrari, jump and butterfly)
and 2 themes (vodafone and blue)
and 3 ringtones (relaxed soul, funky pop and ibiza party)
and 1 game (minigolf)
could it be that a warning (low battery) came up in the middle of the process???

When the T610 opens pictures, it needs memory to show them on screen. If you do a master reset, all the temporary data will be deleted, and the phone will have to read the files again before displaying them. When it runs out of memory, all remaining pics will be corrupted(!). So if you fill it up after the reset, and then enter "My Pictures", all pictures should be corrupted and easily removed.

I have tried the above and it didn't seam to work. Although I most probably did it wrong.
I hope someone else has managed the above. |
