T610 and HBH-30 crackle noise problem |

Hi all,
I own a T610 (great phone) which I ordered directly from SE UK and doesn't have any of the hissing problems other people have reported on here.
But - I do have a problem with my HBH-30 headset when using it with the phone (didn't have this problem with my T68i). When I use the headset with my T610 I hear a very loud crackle noise...
Does anyone know how to fix this problem - or does anyone use the T610 and HBH-30 without this problem ??
I'm not really sure how to fix this - do any of you have another Bluetooth headset that you use with the T610 that doesn't have any problems ? as maybe I need to sell the HBH-30 and get something that does work....Especially as I tend to use the headset 3-5 hours per day for teleconferences.
Thanks,

I agree it is a great headset - and on my T68i it worked fine. Its just on my T610 all I can hear is crackle noises.
I'm wondering if I am running an old version of firmware on the headset. The version I'm running is: R2B
Does this seem old ??

How can you find the version of the firmware in your hbh60 ?

On the T610 go into conectivity, accessories, click on HBH and it will show you the firmware version.
Obviously the headset needs to be paried with the phone, switched on and nearby.

But - my devices are paired - and seems to be working OK.
Hovewer - the "Accessories" is always grayed out. If I force a connection to the hbh60 - the 2-way connection is only kept "alive" for about 2 sec. So - every time I go into the "connectivity/accessories" - the phone cannot find any attatched devices...
What am I doing wrong? hmm...

I've just bought the HBH-35 headset instead. It should arrive on Monday and hopefully will work without the crackle sound.
If I still have the problem then it will be going back - and I guess the T610 is the problem... |

Hi
I'm using my Jabra BT headset that I had for my T68i and it is absolutely fine. Sounds great and paired up no probs at all.

the HBH 35 doesnt fix the problem, its still the same, I have one and its terrible, I have also tried other handsets (T610's) and other headsets
HBH 30 (SE)
HHB 500 (Siemens)
all have the same crackle. I have just spoken to Sony ericsson on the phone and the guy said "we have not been made aware of a crackle"
So.. my T610 is going back, and I am going back to the T68i (still the best phone around) |

there are a few noise issues with the T610 when used with a Bluetooth Headset (not related to the T610 hiss).
Take it to the service centre |

Any idea what they do?
Because the noise can be only heard in a quiet room for me, and when i take it to the service center, its a bit noisy, so they end up saying the headset is fine.
They either act ignorant because they do not have a solution or what. Did u have bluetooth static and it got fixed? If you did maybe you could tell us what did u tell the service center and how to go about it.

Well - I've replaced my HBH-30 with a HBH-35 in the hope that it would stop the crackle on the T610...
Guess What - it doesn't. So something is definately wrong with the T610 and SE Bluetooth headsets.
What is weird is that I've seen some posts from people who are using non-SE BT Headset and they say they don't have a problem....Surely it can't be just SE headsets that have this problem on the T610.
I'm not sure what to do now..my T610 is working great apart from this BT Crackle problem.

I have a HBH-30 BT headset and a T610, and have exactly the same problem. I had my handset swapped last week by my service provider and the new one is even worse!! The crackle is soo bad sometimes, I cannot understand whats being said! I emailed SE about this see below:
My email :
I recently purchased a T610 on the vodaphone networt. I have aready returned the phone and had it replaced by vodaphone as it didn't seem to work very well with my HBH-30 Bluetooth headset. The problems that I was having are that it crackles very badly, and kept loosing connection. I got my new phone through this morning, and guess what.....exactly the same, but worse!
It is not a fault with my headset as this works perfectly with my T68i. Also there seems to be a lot of hiss from the earpiece on the phone when making calls.
Other than that I am pleased with the phone
Please advise

Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Customer Care Centre.
In regards to your enquiry, we have been made aware of a hissing problem with this particular phone, as a result of this we have introduced a one day repair, this will mean sending the phone into are repair centre. we have enclosed the postal details for our advanced repair centre 'Celestica'.
You should send the handset only (keep the SIM card and battery, unless you have been advised that it is a battery fault) in a padded envelope by special delivery (which insures the package for up to £250 and also ensures next day delivery).
We currently have a turnaround time of 7-10 working days.
You should include a brief note including the following information :-
They basically ignored what I was saying about my Bluetooth Problem and just mentioned the known problem of the hissing. To be honest I am thinking of going back to my T68i as I use my BT headset more than the phone itself.
