I have finally got my mms to work (advice to anyone- keep on at them! I started off phoning them, but eventually resorted to email- it does work, just keep trying!) but now when i receive an mms picture, its in a small size (72x88) instead of full size (288x352). Is this something to do with 02, or can i change a setting on my phone?

I have a Sony Ericsson T610 (and love it!) and am on an 02 online tariff.

Thanks
Jen

It depends on the original image size, what size images your phone can display and also which phone took the image.

The images were taken full size, sent to another t610 that can receive full size images, but yet still they come out teeny weeny! Does anyone know if this is something to do with 02?

My bf is on Vodafone, and receives my images as the smaller size. If i send them to myself (on 02) they are still small size!

Help!

Well there you go then - it is being resized by the network. You can always send the MMS to an email address and that wont resize it.

O2 had a similar problem with the 7210 and mms when it first came out. It's problem to do with how the server reads the message. Software upgrade will solve it.

So really there is nothing i can do until they upgrade the software on the server? Its a strange problem really, and just a bit annoying that i receive images so small.

I have sent 02 an email (if they ever reply is another matter! ; ) )

Thanks for your help

I guess you are sending an email to mycare@o2mail.co.uk?
They can take about a week to reply.

The image size is nothing to do with the network, the T610 has 'certain' problems (i.e. some models even with correct s/w version will not send an mms unless you connect to gprs wap first, come out of the wap site and choose to remain connected) and this sounds like another one. If you send a detailed email regarding your problem to o2datasupport@o2.com you will get a response within 24 hours (usually less) and they should be able to help you out.

i have the same problem with O2 and small MMS pictures. have spoken to their technical support who suggested it was a T610 problem. Ericsson deny this!
also have problems in that not all of the MMS sent from or to my phone seem to arrive, and those that do have huge time delays. you had a similar problem?
emailed O2 but no reply as yet.

I find it only seems to happen when you choose to send a pic immediately after taking it (left function key "send" when in camera mode). Or when sending a large pic via mms, even if it's saved. I find it best to take 120x160 pics that you know you'll send via mms and they come through same size as thay are taken. Probably something that will be dealt with in a firmware update sometime in the future.

I still have had no reply from the data support guys, may try again this week. It just seems a strange problem. Why does only 02 have this problem? And it seems that this isn't just a problem that applys to the t610!

Its such a great phone, and takes really good res pics, but i can only recieve tiny pics! My bf is on Vodafone with a t610, so its really annoying!

Lets hope 02 update their software soon!

O2 are not the only network with problems, the siemens s55 did not work with Orange MMS til it had a software upgrade to support the network protocols.
