I have just set up my phone (T68i) to work with my PC using windows me. It uses orange GPRS and connects OK but doesn't allow any data to be sent or received (ie webpages and email wont load).

Found this site and seems that he had the same problem and fixed it, but dont know how he did it: (3/4's down the page): http://larve.net/people/hugo/2003/scratchpad/SonyEricssonT68i.html .

Any help would be grateful, thanks.

Houlty.

Are you using a data APN or a wap APN?
For you to view html pages e.t.c you will need to use Oranges Data GPRS APN.

Dunno. Contact Orange Customer Care or head over to their website.

@houlty

Do a Google search on 'Orange GPRS APN'. You'll hit: http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html

Which should answer your question....

Steven.

Yeah, sorry, but the site doesn't help whatsoever and when I tried changing the APN it says GPRS parameters not supported. It also says exactly the same thing when I setup a whole new GPRS data account following instructions on other posts that other people say works. Is it that I am not registered for some types of GPRS or has orange updated from the old settings of GPRS recently. Its just that i thought I would be registered for all types of GPRS, not just one.

Thanks anyway, but if anyone else can help please do.

You most likely need to contact Orange CC and check that your account is suitable for their data GPRS package. They will then either give you the correct settings or will activate data GPRS on your account so that you can use it.

Phil.

Does the step-by-step guide on this page on the orange web site give you the info you need?

btw. make sure you have GPRS activated on your account as "GPRS parameters not supported" often means you don't have it activated.

I'm also trying to do this via O2. I can get the phone to dial GPRS by dialling *99# but it doesn't actually do anything once connected. O2 do provide a wizard that you can download and install on a PC to set up a GPRS/full-net connection, but even that doesn't work! It says "wrong APN" on the phone screen every time it dials.

I've changed the APN, and even used arcane AT commands in the modem string to define the APN, but nowt works.

I'll email O2 :o)
