hi guys i cant get the ericsson wap prrovder to work

went to the site and entered alol my details and stuff
recieved the text message,. accepted and change the setting
but when i go to connect to the service it does not work, i keep on getting the communication error msg. whats going on

is it down or are there other setting to change
i really want to download so ringtones and themes from the esato wap page as all i can do at the moment if background pictures

u hav 2 get d config fr ur network provider-se site myt b giving u wap via gsm

I think you need some clearer information about WAP. The info you downloaded from the website is for a public WAP gateway, not a service provider. Whichever way you connect to WAP, either through a GSM dial-up, or by connecting via GPRS, your service provider, in your case, BT Genie, will have it's own WAP gateway, but these are often limited to only allow small ammounts of data transfer at a time, which is why you can't download large items like themes and screensavers.

You don't have to use their gateway. Try this:

WAP Services>
Options>
WAP profiles>
Add profile?>
Call it Halebop>
Connect using> (choose the data account you use to connect to WAP)
IP address 194.237.106.73
WAP Services>
Select profile> (select Halebop) This may be the part you missed out before with the settings.
Begin using WAP

I currently use Halebop, but would like to know if anyone knows of a gateway that allows files of 37KB or more to be downloaded.

thanks for your msg,
yeah it seems i got it to work in the end
im still on a small learning ncurve with this phone
but i got it to download ringtones and themes
i changed the ip adress using those from o2 and all works fine
