Guys, i know how hard it is to find your phone settings, i recently got a Sonyericsson T310 and am well impressed, however it doesnt like to respond to pop and smtp very well. I am on 02 and this method may help.
I wanted my lycos.co.uk pop settings (as a number)
so, try this.
open up command prompt.
start menu - all programs - accessories - command prompt.
you should get a dos screen.
type:
ping pop.lycos.co.uk (then press enter)
this should give you ping stats and packet response from the target
pop ip address (212.78.202.250) This can also be done with smtp. However i think you have to use your providers IP address. (mines 02 - 193.113.160.13) use the other settings for username etc from the other posts before this.
this should work with your mail providers and should even accomodate personal.co.uk and .com mail servers.
Hope that helps!

ok ive been thru the whole thread, and a few others. I'm failing miserably still tho...
I hosted my own mail server but i couldnt make it send mails properly.
BT won't work for me (my isp).
The various other settings i've tried have failed, usually resulting in either wrong mailbox or password, or server couldnt be found.
Can anyone tell me any straight forward way of being able to recieve AND send email from my T68i. I am on T-Mobile (in the uk). Just the name of a website, or something would be great!

For T-Mobile in the US you need your APN to be set to internet3.voicestream.com
This is something you need to request for an additional fee.
I have found that you can NOT use your WAP data account.
I have two separate Data Accounts set up on the phone. One for WAP and one for Data. You use the Data APN for the POP3 mail set up.

This is no longer the case and you can access POP3/IMAP with T-Zones or T-Zones Pro add-ons only.
Also All T-Mobile USA users can use myemail.t-mobile.com for their SMTP (outgoing mail) server, use all other settings as normal.

Hi there...
Iīd like to have an email account for using with my T39m but hotmail?
mobile.msn.com (wml) works great, you can access all your folders (include trash and others), delete emails, etc
if it only supports msn messenger for other countries than US itīll be my principal wap site visited.
(sorry for not answer ur question )

Dutch setings:
"Zonnet Gratis" "Server inkomend".
Hier staat "pop3.zonnet.nl" verander dit in "62.58.50.10"
Kies OK en ga naar "Uitg. Server".
Succes

Well, isn't it that u dail to your provider each time and not use your GPRS account? Because that's what i want?
----------------
Bel je zo niet via een dataverbinding ipv je gprs te gebruiken? dat wordt beetje duur voor mij dan :S

xmbox.com
Connect Using : T-Mobile GPRS
Protocol : IMAP4
Inc. server : xmbx01.xmbox.com
Inc. port : 110
Mailbox :
Password : XXXX
Outgoing server : xmbx01.xmbox.com
Outgoing port : 25
E-mail address : my_account@xms.ms (or you can use @xmbox.com)
Download : Headers + text
xmbox is currently down for some reason, but they give you 20 megs of storage and pop3 and imap4 for free. Imap for some reason works better then pop3.

SBCGLOBAL.NET Email using my Nokia 3650
Access Point: T-mobile
Email Address: username@sbcglobal.net
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com
Username:username@sbcglobal.net
Password:XXXXX
Incoming Mail Server: pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com
Mailbox Type: POP3
That got me into my mailbox without any problems.
I'd imagine the same would work for Yahoo accounts also. |

Hi guys, nice thread.
Found something out yesterday that might be of some relivance to somebody! I use Virgin Mobile and although they tell me I can't use email through my phone, I got it to work 110%. Here what I did. I got the phone on T-Mobile (so I got a T-Mobile SIM with it) I set up my email account with hotPOP (at http://www.hotpop.com), recived and sent 1 e-mail with T-Mobile GPRS, swaped SIMs and changed the Connect with part... to Virgin Mobile CSD. If I has tried to connect before with my Virgin SIM, then I get "No POP Server Found" or "No SMTP Server Found". Now, it works 100%. Its a bit slow but saves me swapping SIMs and keeping both topped up. Good Luck if it helps anyone else!

hi,
I've just tried the hotmail settings and they didn't work, they say that the server can't be found, I do live in the UK so I was thinking maybe the server is now a dead link? |
