I sent an MMS to my email address too, it comes through as

msg from: @orangemms.net

But it comes through as plain text, and doesnt really work - simply attatching the pictures and animations you include. And if you try to reply to the email you get the error:

We regret that we currently cannot accept replies to @orangemms.net.

Called Orange Wirefree yesterday - they put my number forward to allow MMS (upgraded T68) - Received the SIM update today (even though one of the people at Orange said I couldn't update via SIM as I had a firmware upgraded T68 - different story every time). Deleted the message and turned off my phone - losing all my additional data accounts in the process - this is getting to be a real pain.

Set the phone manually (many thanks BODINSKI and JEDISMURF) - managed to send a test MMS - Great! Also received a delivery receipt (shame that function is not available with Orange for SMS!! who wants to put RCT in front of everything!?)

Called 277 option 2 (BODINSKI ) Was greeted with the message "only available on T68i and some Nokia something or other - no message for me to download or options for turning on MMS - Any suggestions ??

If I want to be a real masochist I think that I will just turn my phone off and on again – to have the fun of re-entering all my email/Data/WAP and MMS settings! Come on SonyEricsson – hurry up with a firmware patch to sort this problem out (I know that I am not the only one)

It would appear GregB is correct. I have phoned orange services on 156 to ask for MMS upgrade. Told me because my handset was "offline purchased" i cant have the upgrade. said that the system they have wont let them send it to me as it recognizes my mobile as a non MMS standard phone.

So balls to that then. Couldn't tell me when it would become avaible for anyone in the same boat.

If anyone does get it going, let me know.

Cheers

I have just got MMS on Orange on a SIM free t68m->i.

The technique I used is to lie and say no it's not a SIM free phone I brought it in December, got the flash upgrade in May from CPW and no I know you think I have a Nokia xxxx but your details are wrong, I've got an "Orange branded" (key words here) t68.

Worked for me with the nice lady.

PS, Buried somewhere in the Orange website on MMS it says the 25p news etc. messages are free for a promotional period. I suggest copying the page and then trying it. You can then wave the evidence of freeness at Orange when their billing screws up and charges you £Xm for all the 'free' news items you received.

The free MMS updates from Orange are great!! Good quality pictures.
Anyway is there anyone out there who could very kindly MMS me the Spiderman theme to +447976836575. My pc has had a hard-drive failure so the future's looking pretty grim.

ps We all knew Orange would come good IN THE END!!!

'What I meant to say was, what a load of bollocks!'

I really wish it was, but here I am living proof.

I sit here right now with my Orange t68i 'Branded' phone (No upgrade or off contract).

I have checked through all of my settings, (Three times)

I have turned of the phone, I have deleted nearly all my pictures, I have 99% memory free.

I try to forward the 'Welcome to MMS' template to my number, but no joy. This is what happends;

Sending

GRPS Failed

Network Communication Error. Please check your settings.

So I check, again, fine.

Call Orange, they say Can't send MMS without a camera!!

WHAT.

They are doing free MMS info messages for a limited time.
Just dial 277 to activate it.

You need to turn the phone off and then on again, after the SIM update for it to work properly, something about the GPRS registration process.

Does your mms upgrade work on an offline handset? Is the pseudo-techno-babble that the tubbies spout on 156 about compatibility actually bobbins?

I found a page about the 277 alerts, but nothing about being free. All you need to do is record the 277 call in Sound Recorder when the voice says "these messages are free for a promotional period"
