DIY Flashing with supplied usb cable, is it possible?

You would think it is, as SEUS uses it, davinci team also advertise that it can be done with their new client, but they dont yet have the w800i firmware, or wont do it unitl its official release...

I dont really want to spend >Ł20 for a cable, then more for credits to upgrade the firmware... clearly people just want to get extra money out of you by saying it is not possible with the supplied USB cable!!
