I think that the gaming card reads faster but writes slower. No big difference using it in a phone anyway

as far as i know they are identical. only difference is that one comes with a memory stick adapter, and the other doesnt

Yeah I had a look at the sandisk website and theres only one specification list, so I guess they must be the same. Let us know what Sandisk say in their reply anyway,

whats the difference between a memory stick duo and a memory stick PRO duo? cheers guys
Posted by mathios
l have both, it seems that the gaming series is faster (both read and write) but not a very big difference.
Posted by seanflynn
yes mathios could be correct, I think the for the GAMING Pro Duo it will need to bill a little faster for the use with PSP. thats why they brought them out for them, I bet you would have quite a few problems if you used the normal one.

Hi as promised... This is what i asked the SanDIsk officials...
I would like to purchase a 1GB sandisk produo memory card but t came to my knowledge that there are 2 similar products which are of the same functions but of a different name.
1)Is there a difference between the SanDisk Gaming Memory Card and the SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo? I would like to use this device for my sonyericsson k750i mobile phone by the way...
2)Is the Gaming memory card compatible with the SE k750i?
3)Is there a difference in speed or quality... apart from the looks issue?
--------------Their Reply-------------------------------------------
Thank you for contacting Sandisk Technical Support.
1) No, the technology is the same.
2) If the Phone takes Memory stick Pro Duo, then yes it will take the Gaming line card.
3) No, there is no difference in the cards, except the color.
Best Regards,
Da-Shya H.

pm me with answers, what does an adapter do anyways? lol

The adapter allows you to put the smaller Duo card into a normal Memory Stick slot, eg on a card reader. As far as I know, the gaming one does not come with an adapter.

does it fit straight into a k750i (the yellow gaming one)? whats a card reader and why would you want somthing that just reads your mem stick when your phone does it?

The Duo cards are the small Memory Sticks that are used by the K750i. The adapter allows the Duo to be used wherever a standard non-Duo card might be needed, eg a digital camera or a card reader - a device you connect to your computer that allows cards from other devices such as digicams to be read as a removeable drive on the computer so you can download pics etc. If you use the cable supplied with the K750i, this will show the card up as a removeable drive, so you wouldn't need a separate card reader.

cool yeah... so a usb cable is a cheaper version of a card reader?

Depends. The card reader will have a USB cable to connect it to the computer. Most card readers accept various different cards - SD, Compact Flash, Memory Stick etc etc, so if you've got a number of devices with diferent cards, it's easier to have just the one reader. Card readers are usually a lot faster than using the device the card is in to download data and takes it's power from the computer rather than draining the device battery.
I don't know if the adapter you have will work. Does it come from a PRO card? If yes, it probably will. If not, I don't know.
