Its been predicted in all main religions that we are very close to the end times: In the Quran for example their is mention of signs for the end of the world... i.e: War in the Middle east..Mans exploration of Space..New incurable diseases (Aids)..Increased dependency on technology in every day human life...these are just some of things.I believe that if its not the end of the world, we are going to at least see some kind of major catostrophic event.

There has been war in the middle east since the beginning of ages, mans exploration fo space has been going for a few decades (at least that we know of... there are people who believe space was exploed long long before as well
) there have always been incurable diseases until a cure was found, at which point new diseases emerged that were incurable. AIDS may not be curable now but since it's progress can be halted with medication it may well be curable one day.
If you want incurable you should look at the flu instead. now there's one bugger we cannot beat. Birdflu anyone? Now there's a real threat.
Does 'the end of the world' to all you people mean 'boom' and bye bye' or does it mean we wipe out mankind after which our planet will continue happily without us?
If the world ends it ends. I ask only one thing: don't save me, I don't want to be the last one alive.
Until the day comes I believe it's best to continue living life

What I find funny about the people who quote Nostradamus is they mention it for world wide events such as the Twin Towers 9/11, this doesn't work as Nostradamus was paid by the king of France to make prophesies about Europe NOT the rest of the world and that is what he did.

Vlam is right. I mean, how can the world End? Dinosaurs died out, it was the end of their world. If humans die out then other life will carry on. The planet will still be here. Why do we presume there can be no life on Earth without Humans? If there is a great catastrophy, either Natural or Man made then so be it. Life will go on in some form or another. I just hope it doesn't end before the S800i is released :-D

@O2. First of all, the Tsunami was not caused by climate change, it was simple plate tectonics. It wasn't the first and it wont be the last. Also how can you possibly know there are more Gays etc today. Do you have hold of a census for the last 50 millennia! Today they are just more visible. Like Scot says, there has always been natural disasters, it is just that there hasn't always been Satellite TV to report on them so thoroughly.
