Guys,

I went to the Hub at Rockwell, inquired about the MCA-20 communicam. They said it's at Php5.5k, was able to list my name thru the reservation lists. But do you think the price will still be the same if ever the stocks will arrive this coming Sept.?

Posted by GOwin
no one really knows - except them.

didn't you ask if your reservation entitles you to a price of Php 5,500?

Posted by frederick
GOwin,

Yeah, but still they can manipulate the price...... Semicon has no feedback yet also..... Well, have to wait and see na lang. Hope to meet all fellow Pinoy Ericsson lovers in the upcoming EB. Thanks!

the last time i went to Hub rockwel. What I saw is an MCA-10, and the price is PHP6500. But I did not ask for an MCA-20. Im just wondering, how come MCA-20 is cheaper than MCA-10?

Posted by tommyg
i too went to the hub at rockwell and they said an MCA-20 is 6,500. on that same day, i went to the hub at the podium and they said it costs 5,500. this was last 17 august 02. weird.

anyway, could some one please email me a sample of a picture taken with an MCA-20? what's the resolution? i'm no techy but just wanna know the picture quality and the maximum size of the picture if i wanted to print it out.

my email address is : tommyg@toast.com

Never trust that Globe reservation forms... Mauubos lang panahon mo sa kakahintay... The chances of wining the lotto is higher that getting a ring fr them!

Posted by Rotavap
... But I think talangang below production output ang SE... or their global distribution strategy isnt that good... I'll see if I can find some stocks sa Singapore on Fri... Maybe its cheaper there?

Posted by orang3
it is ard 289sgd .. here .. i asked a few shops ..

Posted by Rotavap
@orange3 - thanks! du u know where exactly? I only know of a few place to look out - SIm Lim, Lucky Plaza, Holland Village?

thanx guys for your response

Also, price is very very catchy for the MCA-20 at the HUB. Some countries are selling higher than Php 5,500.00. Well, hope they will retain the price when the stocks arrive.

Went to the Hub at rockwell too last night and i reserved for an mc-20. For the past week there has been 23 reservations already. There was even one customer who reserved 4 units, 1 for each member of his family who all shifted from Nokia to T68s.

They expect delivery sometime September. Lira, the girl I spoke to assured that the price will still remain at P5.5K in spite of its demand (i hope)

Posted by frederick
@Tommyg,

Were you able to fill out a reservation form? All they did was enter your name, celfone number and landline number at their notebook there. IMO, sort of like a catchy thing to me. No reservation form to fill out. Hope what they say will still be honored when stocks arrives.

Posted by tommyg
@frederick,

i did the same thing as you did. i too was wary about listing reservations in a notebook. I was hoping to write it in one of their huge books but nope.

regarding the price... i asked Lira (she works at the Hub) about the cost staying at P5.5k in spite of the demand.. it'll stay daw at P5.5K (well, let's keep our fingers crossed.)

so far about 23 have reserved. she said when deliver comes, they have like 20 units. i'll advise you soonest if it comes. you too the same for me, k?

Posted by frederick
@Tommyg,

No problem. Thanks!

Posted by koopz
hey guys, where did you sign your reservations... i got mine in powerplant and they said that they will call if ever the supply comes. Hope it really do come... cant wait to get my hands on that camera!!!

Posted by tommyg
@koopz
notebook at rockwell. how about you?

Posted by koopz
same...notebook at powerplant too!!!

It is useless to use a mca-20 communicam on t68. this is because t68 only can show 256 color which is damn bad on displaying bitmap graphic or photo that use more then 256 color.
No point to shoot a nice photo and display it on 256 color phone as caller picture. It look very ugly !

Posted by ferrarista44
@yapliren
it's not really about storing hi-res pics in your 256-color phone.
it's about catching some things "as they happen, when they happen"

check this.

anybody here who reserved their names at the HUB Rockwell got a call from them? Any feedbacks yet? Anyone know their number?

Went to the HUB after I met some of the peeps of PCC last nite. Damn ang haba pa rin ng list nila for the MCA-20 cam. Well, they told me nagkaroon daw ng 5 pcs. but they gave it to the customers who reserved last June pa. Anyways, not anymore interested.

Went to Semicon also last nite and met Bjorn and Dan 619 there, They have T68i artic blue cover (less than 900) and the keypad (less than 200) if some of you are planning for a facelift. FYI.

I reserved my communicam here at Semicon Fairview, but the sales person told me that I was way down on the list, it may take awhile. That made me think, how many Filipinos are using the SET68i? I used to remember the time when I felt good knowing I was one of the few who never succumbed to the Nokia craze (pardon the Nokia users).

I got a guy who will purchase for me the mca-20 communicam in the States, so I don't think i'll be worrying about my reservation.

Posted by smoie
they have 1 (mca-20) on display at SM Fairview. I forgot the stores name, but its on the 3rd floor near the stairs. the price - almost 10g's

Posted by koopz
weeeeeeeww.. ang mahal naman... i thought, it only costs around 5-6K!??

Posted by jplacson
Semicon has them for P7500. I was on the Hub's list also for about 3 months... forget about it... I doubt they'll order any more.

Posted by Dagger
@smoie

The shop you're referring (if memory serves me right) is games & gadgets, on the second floor (seeing as the foodcourt section is usually considered the basement section of the building). Yes, I've seen the box but when i asked for it, they say it's out of stock.

Posted by warp86
HUB Glorietta say mca-20 will be available next month....totoo kaya??????? or get it @ semicon for 7k or Greenhills @9k

Posted by ferrarista44
may mca-20 sa SM-southmall. i just forgot the name of the shop.
they're selling it for P9,000...expensive!

they also have an hbh-30. didnt ask lang how much.

Hi all! Lyk d other guys i was wondering why wud the MCA-20 wil be cheaper than MCA-10. I was in bangkok last month and its there that i bought my new t68(upgraded 2 T68i),MCA-10 only costs 3500baht around 3700 converted 2 peso and MC-20 is around 6-6500baht. To think dat their exchange rate is lower than ours,i thnk MCA-20 wil be charge higher than we expect. I did not buy d communicam tho,i bought the MP3 player.LOL!:-):-)

Hubs are full of crap!! First they will tell you that next month, they will release mca-20 for 5,500! D next thing they will do is to mark that damn camera up to 7,500! Just like what others did!! I reserved for an mca-20 since last june! Hanggang ngayon, wala pa ding tawag! If i were you guys, just buy it in semicon, meron pa kayong 1 year warranty! Kesa maghintay sa lintek na hub na yan! Hindi ako galit ha! hehehehe

Posted by frederick
Well, I complete gave up on the idea of purchasing a MCA-20 cam for me...... I will just use my Sony P51 digicam.... mas sulet eh..... transfer ko na lang ang mga pics sa notebook to T68 via IR....... mas sulit......

I'm still listed dun sa Hub. I can swap places if someone wants it......

Posted by nookiehunter
sheesh, im better off buying the oem camera... cheaper but same functionality... and then some! =)
langya namang waiting list yan eh... parang walang nangyayari...

Posted by ferrarista44
@tom_riddle
buti pa Semicon no, when they say maglalabas sila ng mca-20, they really would.

Posted by nookiehunter
semicon rockwell lang yata... ewan ko yung ibang branch. semicon alabang sucks... bad service, la pa masyadong SE stuff... puro nokia crap. ehehehe.

Posted by tom_riddle
@ferrarista44

Yup! They are more efficient than any other company selling mobile fones. Would you believe, hub doesn't know what esato is!! Mga idiot!!

@tom_riddle

I AGREEEEE

@tom_riddle

sama ako dyan hehehehe mga walang alam

@to all
grabeng managa ang games & gadgets halos himatayin ka sa presyo nila blue tooth headset 12k bwahahaha para na akong namili ng t68 converted to t68i nyan

Posted by tom_riddle
and the worst part is, paasahin ka nila ng mga katagang "sir, next month na po ang release ng mca-20". right!! I heard that last june and still now, they don't have stocks. baka lumabas na ang P800 wala pa din silang stock nun. first, they don't know how what esato is. second, the only thing you can browse DAW sa gprs nila is the myglobe.com.ph!!! gee, ano kaya ang tawag sa kanila. currently, i am a post paid subscriber. ang daming hidden charges.

Posted by vwbeetle
is anyone interested in the clone version of the mca-20..i have a few to sell..pm me if interested can arrange a meeting to try it out first if you wish

Posted by Scythe

And even if they are afraid of getting more stocks than they could dispose, e di kunin nalang nila on consignment. Pero alalay naman sa pricing mga peeps.

Posted by nookiehunter
i made a reservation last tuesday @ the hub in glorietta, they said 5.5 thou daw n it will come out in november... hope it's true... coz im really tempted to buy the gold oem camera which i heard is better than the mca-20, so much that i might buy one tomorrow.
