AirTel GPRS service

Posted by jamalmohd
AirTel doesn't have a uniform tariff for its GPRS services. A person using AirTel's GPRS (unlimited access) service in part of Mumbai is paying Rs.5 per day which comes to about Rs.155 per month. For the same service AirTel is charging Rs.250 in Kerala. Tamilnadu AirTel customers are the most affected GPRS customers. In Tamilnadu for the same GPRS service AirTel is charging Rs. 600 per month. Why this vast difference in GPRS tariff. Many Tamilnadu customers are paying this amount with out knowing that they are paying more than double the amount of what a Keralite is paying in the adjacent state of Kerala for the same service.

R u talking about full gprs or just wap gprs?

Posted by mrao
Why dontcha call Airtel and ask em??

Posted by amd1129
If in tamil nadu IMHO shift to BSNL

Posted by Pradhika
This thread confuses lol. The charges dont differ this much. A horrible mixup between wap and full rate.

Posted by mrao
@prads....they do...for web gprs....i think the topic of discussion is Mobile Office...

Posted by c_vignesh
What @jamalmohd is saying is absolutely TRUE but what to do @Rs.600/- there is no one to match airtel's offer here ...i heard BSNL gprs is crap ....

For everyone out there for Rs.600/- p.m you get full fledged GPRS

Posted by amd1129
Hows it crap?

Posted by c_vignesh
In my city ...people say the speeds are very low ....thats why :-!

Posted by amd1129
Vignesh the solution 4 ur problem is to use the ip 100.1.200.99

Posted by rajasub
ip 100.1.200.99 is for free wap home page of airtel live n u even can't access other wap sites EASILY.

Posted by sailaab
Does Airtel allow using these services on roaming when customer is in other circle ? Maybe then one can pick a spare SIM from there. Orwise I fail to see why I'd be keen to pay the same rate as normal broadband for wirefree Connectivity that proves *mediocre* in comparision.
@Mrao: Luk ! A non 'galli' post by me in an Airtel thread

Posted by Pradhika
@ Sailaab. Yes. Airtel allows you for gprs while roaming out of circle also.

@rajasub. I bet you have neither registered nor subscribed for airtel on line rpt airtel on line.

Hi
Does someone access GMAIL from their K750i through AIRTEL ?
Is it possible ?

I tried , in vain.
BTW i use AIRTEL - Net on Phone GPRS services.

Got a clue somebody ?

Hi everyone,

In chandigarh AirTel has two services. 1. AirTel live and 2. Mobile office. While Mobile Office is full access GPRS whether connected to Pc or surfing on mobile via WAP. But this bullshit service costs Rs600 pm.
Now the other service is AirTel live service which is free and restricted to AirTel wap homepage. From there one can download stuff for huge prices.

Now the tricky part. HOW TO ACCESS FREE WAP ON AIRTEL.
In down to know how

Yes buddy its very much possible. If you have GPRS then simply go on your PC and edit ur Gmail settings to Pop3 enabled. Then goto to email settings on ur mobile and fill required items like Pop3 & SMTP ADDRESS and their ports etc.

amd will u plz let me know that trick(to access external sites on Airtel Live)......plz pm me if u dont want to tell it in open

Posted by Raj_2006
Please Some One Can PM the Trick To Free Airtel .

Please It Would Be Very ThankFull To That person.

Please !!!

Posted by Sukhdeep Singh Kohli
Ok buddies here the trick.
1. First AirTel live
2. Try to open any wap site such as this one. You'll receive an error "Access Denied". Ignore this and quickly and i mean quickly try open it again after the connection has closed completely. I.e. The little "G" icon on the left top of the screen (for Nokia) and the litte globe icon (for SE) disappears.
3. After a few attempts u'll be able to access the site. And once a site opens u can open any site.
And don't lose hope is the moral of the story

But is there any thing that we can do to use GPRS but in less than 600 ,

what about 99/month.

Please tell about that.

Posted by Raj_2006
Please Guys , help me out.

Tell me about Airtel 99/month.

Posted by Pradhika
That is a simple wap service. You browse wap sites using cellphones and down load stuff from paid/free sites.

Posted by mrao
This free wap stuff is pure trial and error... do you think mobile operators are that foolish... why dont you pay a little more and get legit service with no need for trial and error... Operators globally, charge as per volume of data used..be it wap or web gprs..and it wont be long before Airtel does it too

Posted by Sukhdeep Singh Kohli
Yup buddy this free wap trick is workin fine for me. Everytime you see me here is bcoz of this. It hardly takes not more than 2 min now. Why pay 600 when i can have free wap.
Talkin about operators being foolish, my friend works for AirTel he tells me there whole lot of tricks that we dont have clue about. Few months ago they tried to take action against this free wap trick but had to withdraw it bcoz it was causin a lot of probs.

Posted by Raj_2006
But is there any way to run GPRS internet on PC.Without paying 600 RS on Airtel , And how can we activate Airtel 99 RS GPRS , And do tell me that is it working in Punjab , I live near Phagwara City.

Posted by Sukhdeep Singh Kohli
Nope its not possible. Talkin about that 99 plan. Its only for wap and not for pc and that too on AirTel prepaid.
If really want it that bad then there is only one way left i.e get a corporate connection issued in name of some private firm. They provide AirTel Mobile office at Rs100 to them. I think you'll be knowing how to get that corporate card issued with some jugad.:-D Ek bottle kam seere la de gi.

Posted by Raj_2006
Ok , So is there any way to use HUTCH GPRS in prepaid on PC, and how about the Hutch Trick. Please!

Posted by mrao
Sure there is....pay for it

Posted by Raj_2006
And Whats it.!!

Posted by BlueQuill
Guys i dont know about the rest of the country, But in the eastern part ie west bengal & jharkand airtel is giving mobile office as well as full gprs [pc wap] for 99.00 pm with both pre paid and post paid. And believe me - its good !!

Internet access... pay for the service and stop looking around for freebies

Posted by Raj_2006
I meant to say that whats the Hutch Trick and how much i have to pay on Prepaid.

Posted by mrao
There's no free internet trick.....some folks claim to be able to use free wap....again thats not 100% guaranteed to work.....

W.r.t to prices..they may vary from one circle to the other....be it Hutch or be it Airtel.....

Frankly....you are wasting your time looking for loopholes to get free service....so call your operator....pay for the service and get uninterrupted, trouble free service

Posted by Sukhdeep Singh Kohli
Hey buddy No offence but do ya get some kind of commission from these operators. Why are you demotivating ppl here. If they liked to pay then they wont have comed here. Talkin about that AirTel wap trick its 100% certified. Shall say start a new topic and ask any guy for whom the trick doesn't work.
I have gained tremendous knowledge from here. You are talkin about free lunch well i came to know about awesome wap site to send sms. Saves around Rs750 for sendin international sms.

Posted by a1ster
Although am using AIRTEL gprs for free but still I am fed up of airtel just because of its fukin speed.
1.5 or less of average data transfer speed.
Reliance i think is the best for internet connection but its 1500 per month(unlimited usage) in chandigarh.

Posted by Sukhdeep Singh Kohli
Yup i agree on that but AirTel broadband works is awesome. My bro has it and download speed is around 35kbps besides 256kbps surfin speed.

Nope...I wish they would give me a commission, though
I agree the Airtel wap trick works fine....but most people who come here want free web access through wap service...and most of them probably dont know the difference between the two .....

So we better educate them rather than scare them away.
Lets us leave it to the end users for their choice and do our job of helping them.

Posted by mrao
Hmm... Education on trying to get service without paying for it is as good as encouraging folks to use warez.... Not happening..but thats just my opinion...i guess i should keep it to myself... my apologies for any offence i may have caused you.
