Nope. How to do that?
Posted by blu_6779
format and reinstall. but perhaps someone else would like to venture a better solution.
Try deleting all entries of the bt dongle in device manager and then reinstall drivers.
Is it at least detecting it as unknown device??

Hmmm let me see
Posted by blu_6779
do check if it is detecting it as unknown device, otherwise I fear it's broke
Posted by whizkidd
The dongle is not broke. Mrao has been using it without problems.
Posted by blu_6779
then it must be your xp perhaps. Try to find out how to do a parallel installation of xp and try it on that.

It is. It's called Windoze. Windows still has a problem with non-native drivers. The easiest fix. Get a Mac. BT is native to the OS. All of my phones and BT headsets work with my Mac.
Posted by blu_6779
did it work whiz??
Posted by blackspot
@sapporobaby, that's a very expensive solution -- "killing a mosquito with a cannon"
@whizkidd, (just thought you might want to check this too) is the USB port you are using working perfectly with other devices? Have you tried putting the dongle in a different USB port?
Posted by whizkidd
Getting a mac is too drastic! I'll try reinstalling windows and add sp2... @blackspot, no problem with the usb port as i was using another dongle earlier. The problem with that one was that i wasn't able to connect to the net using it. _________________This message was posted from a Blokia N-gage QD!

try linux then

... or downgrade to win2k sp4.
Posted by vineet_d
win2k sp4 works perfect with any BT dongle i guess

Getting a Mac is never too drastic. It is a solution to all of your problems. No more Windoze for me, however, try this.
1. Remove all devices from the USB ports.
2. Delete the USB port and or hub.
3. Reboot the PC. It should find the new USB ports again.
4. Reinstall the drivers and try the dongle again.
By the way, is your dongle USB 2.0? This could also be the problem If it is USB 2.0 but the port is 1.0 or 1.1 this could cause a problem because your dongle wants to perform at the higher speed but your ports do not support this.

Ok. Let me try your suggestions...

Any luck?

No luck as of yet as there was no electricity here for two days due to the monsoon floods.

D-Link makes a good dongle.
