Howdy Every,
I recently brought a k750i. Before that I was a happy 6230 user. I used Oxygen Phone Manager for Phone Management.
I have come across three programs for SE phones:
MyPhoneExplorer (probably the best at managing contacts and messages)
Floats Mobile Phone Agent (Don't like layout much, often has problems)
Mobile Master (Don't like the layout of this software)
I would like to be able to do a "full" phone backup. I could do this with OPM but it does not support SE. It was a good thing to have considering I had a few phones stolen..So what other software programs are avaliable for SE?
Cheers,
Scott

FMA,is.the.best.one.

no FMA doenst work with K750, many bugs.
Myphoneexplorer is by far the best with K750.
You can do full backup with that.

Float is realy poor.
often disconnects on me, refuses to do certan tasks. i will also try phone explorer.

Where can i get the software to do a full backup for my K750i, you know the contacts and SMS messages and Setiings andall that, or isn't that possible???
Thanks for helping me if possible:P...

myphoneexplorer mentioned above allows you to backup (synchronise) data including the pictures, sounds and videos and the others folder (not java games or apps tho' - nothing will let you do that), messages, contacts, calander, tasks, notes, alarms and call history!
You can also use it to send sms, change and edit profiles and upload java games, mp3's, videos and pictures to your phone!
That would seem to cover it....?

Sounds great!!!
I wanna get all my SMS messages and all that on my pc...
But where do i get it, i really want that!!!
Thanks already:P...

you could try typing "myphoneexplorer" in a google search and see what miracles appear.

I think i found it...
If any one else needs it, here's a german site but the program is also in English...

I'm going to try it now...

Google, the font of modern knowledge!

Damn that really works good:D!!!
It's very easy and very usefull;)...

it's pretty cool. The only thing I would say, K700DateiManager does faster file transfers. Other than that though it can't be bested

Howdy,
My Phone Explorer is good, but it does let you do a "full backup" for example, I cannot get it to save all data as a single file, that could be later "restored" if the phone was ever lost or stolen...
Anyway to do this?
Thanks,
Scott

sorry, no way to do a one click backup to one single file of all content on the phone.
myphoneexplorer is the closest you get
It can do a full backup of the contacts to one file, that can later be restored, and it can archive all sms to pc by selecting all and selecting copy to archive.

It also includes sync with LotusNotes mail server.
It can be downloaded as a 30 days demo version.....sorry, you didn`t like that one....well, not easy to please.

Use Mobiledit, it backs up botj of these and many more phones, then you can just copy all data into your next phone, about 200 are supported now, + it does much more and can even hekp to trace a stolen phone, check their web.

FMA is dead...
Development has stopped (so it seems) and newer phones are not fully supported.
It was THE best, but not anymore.

i think they're working on k750 compatibility issue and i believe something will be settled in the near future

I don't agree that FMA is dead. I really do think that FMA has a very bright future.. Look, there's no other software which can handle loads of loads of scripts, you can browse on your PC, you can fully manage your PC with a T610! It's open source, when we talk about FMA i think we should just say: THANK YOU for the developers.. And yea i think they're working on new phones support, too.. Something's gonna happen, i'm sure.
But yea, seriously, FMA's just good, free, open-source.

in next couple of days will be released new fma stable version which compatible with new phones (k750 & w800), then after that all fma developers will focus on preparing fma-3 which will support other brands (not only SE phones).
hope this can explain that... fma is not dead..
Posted by max_wedge
if that is true, then I will go back to using it. I only stopped because it was getting to the point where I could do more with myphoneexplorer than I could with fma. It became pointless. That was on the K700. When I got the K750, I had no option, whereas myphoneexplorer is compatible with K750, so I kept using that.
Other peeps have found the same thing, and since no work had been done on fma much further than T610 (in terms of full support for newer models), the conclusion was drawn that fma was dead.
It is truly good news if they are still developing, since it was a great piece of open source software.

Guys, u helped me so much, thnx a lot. FMA is way down the drain compared to MyPhoneExplorer. This app is simply amazing and so simple. Thnx again

i'm wondering whether there's no other device explorer that explores more 'within' the phone. Some files that we can't reach with these programs like e.g the standard sms-sound files, or the playlist that you have made on the phone etc..
in fact, all these programs are just doing the same
Posted by numb
there are no way to access other folders on the phone.
Things like sms-sounds resides inside the firmware, and can only be changed by changing firmware or doing customization to firmware through flashing software. Other folders like games and programs are hidden non-accessable for copyrightreasons.
Posted by pina
that sucks
I justy would like to be able to locate the playlist file so I could edit them in windows

My phone: K750
I can sync & use my outlook excellently using the SE PC Suite. But I need to use SMS using the computer. So, I've downloaded myphoneexplorer. When I want to connect, there is a prompt asking me to input the port no & the baudrate. I've tried tried using various COM1,COM2 etc.. & different baudrate too but still fail to connect. Can somebody help me on this?
Posted by numb
the phone is not connected to com 1 or 2, these are your standard serielports.
You need to look in devicemanager to find out which comport is assigned to your phones usb connection.
Open devicemanager, expand ports, look for Sony Ericsson K750 USB WMC devicemanagement (Com something)
Set baudrate in myphoneexplorer to 256000 or 115200

i can connect to get contacts and such, but i'm trying to synch calendar using the features in myphoneexplorer. I add a new calendar item, then try to synch, but get an obex: no carrier error. on the phone, the synch options ask for server info and login...but i'm just syching with the usb cable?
