I have a question for you k750i users. When you search for a name in your phonebook, can you search with more than just the first letter? For example, search for "BO", not just "B".

Cause in my phone, I can only search for the first letter. And I just updated my firmware, but it seems like it did not update the phonebook. However, I've seen some other users with K750i's who can search for a name using more than just the first letter.

I currently have the R1L002 firmware

Any feedback would be appreciated

yes you can in a k750i with firmware R1L002

I just retested and you can do up to 10 letters if you really wanted to

Really? But I can't in mine, and my firmware is R1L002. Does anyone know how to 'fix' this?

From what I have been reading before some regions doesnt have the multi-character seach function. I dont think it works in some asian regions.

ouch, thats bad news. I hope there's a way to enable the multi-character search feature on my phone (i got it in the philippines), seeing as it really is a pain to navigate through 400+ contacts without it.

Dude, this has been mentioned to ad nauseam in other threads. Use the search function PLEASE.

I did use the search function, and I found ZERO useful posts.. some posts mentioned it, but none really addressed the issue on how to fix it.

anyways, if someone could help, itd be appreciated

klorin already addressed your query. you probably have the china version of the fw and thus no multi-character search. you need the euro version.

I have the china version and I can't use multikeys. How can I install european version? ( after all I'm living in Europe:-) )

use davinci (www.davinciteam.com) to flash your phone with the european version. search in forums on how to use davinci and how to get credits, if you are in the Phil. you might want to contact user 619 for credits.

@ ramon_

The multi-chracter search function is disabled in Asian firmware!!!
I've got a K700i with the same problem, but I've fixed it by upgrading the firmware using SEUS UK (from SE UK website).
May be it will work for K750i ?!?

does anyone knows how to make a backup file of my contacts (phonebook) to my pc (aside from typing it)? how do i use the Synchronization. thanks!

the latest firmware for the asian version of k750 does not solve the phonebook problem. is it not possible to edit some settings to enable multicharacter searching??? im so dissapointed how such a great phone is lacking a very simple yet important feature

You need to have the European FS to use multi-character search. Any of the European FS will do.

Posted by arnoldc
If you guys want multi-character set, you need the EURO firmware, not the ASIAN (CHINA) firmware as the language support for Vietnam and China prevents multi-character search.

Being in the Philippines, and predominantly using English as a language, I too would have wanted a EURO K750i for the Philippines but unfortunately, it is not the case.
