Posted by amd1129
No1? Plz help

Posted by DJcreamz
let me guess this right, you want to change 'hardware' ?

Posted by amd1129
Yup so dat it gets better

Posted by DJcreamz
that is physicaly impossible, you would need to buy the GBA chips, screen GPU everything

Posted by amd1129
I just want GBA chips screen aint a prob wats the cost of GBA chips and will they be ne slots to attach em

Posted by DJcreamz
why dont you just buy a GBA, the screen wont work on a normal GB and if it did it would make no differance

Posted by amd1129
Wats the cost of GBA?

Posted by DJcreamz
Here are some price comparisons on shop genie

http://www7.shopgenie.co.uk/s[....]le&c=112101&kpartnerid=8907300

or ebay they are cheaper

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBay[....]ory=48455&item=8205186317&rd=1

Posted by amd1129
Can u post the standard price?

Posted by DJcreamz
ok sorry mate didnt realise you was on wap.

The average price is £64

On ebay they are going for around £40

I dont think it is physicaly possible to change the original game boy hardware as theyt are differant bits. The GBA is 32bit, there original is no more than 16 and most likely 8

Posted by amd1129
I have an 8 bit are there other 8 bit chips to add and make it 32 bit

Posted by DJcreamz
No it dont work like that, two 8 bit chips wont make the game boy 32bit.

The whole gameboy advance is different.

Here is some specs and an explanation of the differance from cyberiapc.com

The Game Boy Advance became the successor to the ever-so-popular Game Boy Color. What Nintendo had envisioned was an improved version of the GBC, in terms of processing power, graphics capabilities and aesthetics, which would remain backward compatible with older games. This is taken care of by the Z80 coprocessor that exclusively handles running Game Boy and Game Boy Color games. Note that the coprocessor cannot run at the same time as the main 32-bit processor, which makes sense.

The system would support sprites, allowing it to produce complex 2D animation and retain more control over individual graphical elements (sprites) within games, as well as scaling and rotation modes. Despite the bigger and brighter screen, Nintendo decided yet again not to include a built-in backlight. Why you might ask. Nintendo thought it would drain too much power and increase costs. Well, that didn't stop the Game Gear from having one eight years ago! shrug...

Aesthetically, the GB's shape changed from a vertical rectangle with the buttons below the screen to a horizontal Game-Gear-like handheld with the arrow keys on the left and the 'A' and 'B' buttons on the right. Two extra buttons were added to the top left and right of the unit too. The new shape definitely made playing games a lot more enjoyable.

The GB Advance was first unveiled in Tokyo at Spaceworld 2000. Its release came a few months later in March 2001.

An amazing thing happened In 2003. Nintendo released a new version of the GB Advance dubbed the Game Boy Advance SP (Special Project), which amazingly included a built-in light and a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery (the previous version was powered by two AA batteries). A decade late, but a wise move nonetheless. Its shape changed too to a flip-type "clamshell", protecting the screen from scratches and reducing its size even further. The SP version uses the same sized cartridges as its predecessor.

The GB Advance retailed at $99, while the GB Advance SP currently sells for approximately $119 with limited editions selling for about $149. The one pictured below is the Famicom Edition, released to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the Nintendo Famicom. About 300 games have been released for the Game Boy Advance including Famicom classics like Super Mario Brothers, Zelda, Excite Bike, Mappy and others.

Technical Specs:

CPU: 32-bit RISC (16MHz)
Coprocessor: 8-bit Z80 CISC (8.4MHz)
RAM: 32KB WRAM, 96KB VRAM, 256KB WRAM
Screen: Reflective TFT (40.8 x 61.2mm)
Sprites: 128
Sprite Size: 8x8 up to 64x64
Colors: 32k
Resolution: 240x160 pixels
Sound: Mono from speakers (Stereo from phones -phone jack is not available in GB Advance SP)
Power: Advance 15 hours (10 hours with pack) / Advance SP 18 hours (10 hours with light)

Is GTA san andreas or vice city released 4 GBA btw games like exite bike are 4 dat 8 bit game wat if i replace the processor increase ram?

Posted by DJcreamz
You cannot replace the processor and increase the ram.

You would need an entire new board, which completly removes the point of upgrading. The GB is a clossed unit, not like a PC

Posted by amd1129
OK thanx btw is Grand theft auto released 4 gameboy? And wats the cost of 24MB video card 4 a pc

Posted by djpowelly
Seriously mate, are you winding us up. You cant get 24MB PC graphics cards. 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512MB, but not 24!

How does ur GB look like

Posted by jagger2k
you can change a gameboy into an gba.. hell you can make it play ds games, all you need to do is mash the gba cart into the slit, it may be a bit stiff but you have to force it, u would reccomend using a chizzle and a hammer for best results, the game will show up in full colour and play better then it would on the gba, try it

Posted by solidsingh
try greasing it to make it slot in

Posted by amd1129
Where will i get that cart?

only if you tv is a HDTV, gameboy only supports HDTV. and i know your gonna ask what is HDTV- High Definition TV. oh and TV stands for Television.

Posted by amd1129
How can i do if it is HDTV?

Posted by djpowelly
Ok this is getting silly...

1. YOU CANNOT UPGRADE A GAMEBOY
2. you cannot get a 24MB PC card
3. you cannot add two 8 bit cpus in series and get a 15 bit cpu
4. just buy a GBA, GBASP, DS, PSP, neonode etc...

Can we have this locked please?

Posted by amd1129
I wanna add those 8 bit chips to my gb

ok follow this guide: unplug your tv, open the back of it, locate the wire which conects to the plug, strip it down and and plug the wire in, touch the blue wire with one finger and the brown with the other, if you still alive after this, shove you gb remains inside the tv and never think bout it again

Posted by djpowelly
