Hey im with O2 and my internets working fine, however when i try to send a message it wont send and always comes up with "sending failed".......any help would be greatly appreciated

this is a network problem, you just have to persevere and keep trying to send it, it will go eventually, happens to me quite often.

yeh this was happening to me earlier aswell, a network problem which now seems to be working fine.

maybe I was wrong, its still happening to me - first time you send it says sending failed and it saves in drafts, then when you re-send again from drafts it sends fine. Anyone else having this problem?

Looks like you need a firmware upgrade..

Its been fine since I bought my phone though which was over 2 weeks ago, just been these past few days this has been happening.

I had the same problem.
The Answer -
Myself (and Sunj) have renewed our contracts, they have not carried over the option of MMS over to the new contract. Call O2 and tell them that they need to enable MMS and it takes 24 hrs and it will start to work again

@m8cky: but this is only whilst sending sms? (I haven't sent any mms or even tried) and has only started in the past few days?

eeerrr, ok, maybe not then but it seems very coincidental that I got my phone 1 day before you and had a simlar problem 1 day before you (albeit MMS not SMS).
Dunno then mate, give O2 a buzz!

First you need to know what version of software you have on the phone.
If the version is R1A. Then there is a problem with SMS and Call connections. This has been confirmed with SE.
R1J and R1L Do both fix the problem with these issuse.
On R1A I used to have major problems in sending SMS (Failed even when i have network) Or calls being cut of or even saying that the cant connect to my phone when i have a signal.
The new firmware does resolve this issue. If you have the new firmware. check that you SMS are being sent via GSM and not GPRS.
Go to Settings, Connectivity, Data Comm, Sms Access and then choose GSM.
I am aware that on occasion the phone become confused when sending sms. To get round this is to soft boot your phone. to be honest this is a really good thing to do every so often any way.
While you phone is switched just take the battery out, wait 15 seconds and place the battery back in. The phone will take longer to boot but the phone checks everything and if something was wrong it renews the software. Nothing is lost so dont panic.
Hope this helps
