Im having a mug of tea, and its led me to wondering about my fellow esatonians tea drinking habits. I dont have a particular brand of tea that i prefer, I love any tea! Some people say a mug of tea is "common, and only bricklayers drink tea from mugs", but, a cup isnt enough, and 2 cups is too much, whereas a mug fits just right.
How do you drink yours???

i don't like tea, but i drink my irn-bru and dr pepper straight from the 2 litre bottle.

I like a mug.
I drink the blend Twinings released for Her Majesty the Queen's Golden Jubilee. As it was a limited release in 2002 it's not so easy to get now.

@absin
I know there used to be a website called lobster or some such thing, which did fine foods. If they are still around they may stock your brand if you find it difficult to obtain.
Failing that Fortnum's may also have some reserves. There was a time when Harrod's would have been a dead cert, but unfortunately that time has passed.

I do enjoy an earl grey in the morning.
I must say tho, tho i have tasted many unique and special blend tea's i find myself always returning to the common favourite, the 'Joe Average' of the tea bag world, the PG pyrimid, for such a cheap leaf the taste per £ is unrivaled, you can have your fine blends and hard to find tea's.
Id have a cup of the 'common man's' tea anyday.

In India, Assam tea (raw) leaves have the best flavour and tastes good. That is past. Since last 3 years i take a cup of pure milk. This message was posted from a T610

I'll drink any tea, they are all great. right now i'm working my way through a 500-bag box of "happy shopper teabags £1.29" and quite frankly they taste exactly the same as your tetley's and twinings.

tea is tea imo
but some will disagree
i like the smell of earl grey but never tried it

I like smelling earl grey vanilla, and drink Assam, PG Tips or Red label. I like it brewed for aggges, about 5 minutes with more than a splash of milk so that it is golden!

You too are a man not clouded by posh names and exotic blends, you like your tea like the ccoal miners of the past, in a cup with sugar. The real mans tea comes in shipping containers not small pouches

I just like my regular everyday PG tips...you can't beat it,but i often drink geen chinese tea...very good for the stomach,aids digestion.

Today will end much the same as most days, wipping the sweat from my forehead i will pick up the small tin kettle place it on the open fire with my soot covered hands, run a small tin bath and soak while i enjoy a cup of english brew. Looking forward to the prospect of going back down the mine 2moro

I rather like Earl Grey myself although I also partake of Darjeeling too. Proper breakfast tea is nice with a Sunday fry-up of course.
I generally don't drink tea other than on a Sunday morning or if I am going for tea in the afternoon. I would usually have coffee, but that is another thread ...

I'm not overly fond of tea, although i do have some on occasion, particularly herbal tea. Had some mead in a mug last night, first class stuff.

@DJ
I usually have little cucumber sandwiches with my afternoon tea (yes the crusts are cut off).

@meths
Well are you?
Posted by DJcreamz
It sounds delightfull scots, unfourtunatly after a bad experiance with hair removal cream that smells like cucumber i have been unable to eat them. So i will go for the traditional ploughmans lunch accompanied with a class of dandelion and burdock followed by cream tea's and a cup of PG

@DJ
I usually just have a pink gin of an afternoon rather than tea.

I like coffee more.
@djc
I hate all these posh names for tea too.
@768KBR
I do love that south african blend!

I had the pleasre of actually living near darjeeling - calcutta.
My parents used to blend tea at home and that was nice.
NOw that I am in Bangalore we have to do with packet tea wich is also good - I never was a tea drinker but started this year

I like to buy tea from F&M. I like their 'Royal Blend' (in a purple caddy) and 'Highgrove' (in a red caddy). Highgrove is a very cheery cuppa; I guess it's a Darjeeling and there's a good hint of bergamot (perhaps an Earl Gray mix(?)) I keep all my teas in caddies and I have Sterling silver tea spoons. I always use loose leaf and I always warm the pot first.

your the sort that are driving us traditional tea drinkers underground

yes we are becoming a rare breed ryan.
Meths tea update:
Slightly hung over this morning, so i had a very milky, sweet mug of tea. It was a blue mug. The tea was a Brooke Bond Scottish Blend pyramid bag. The tea was lovely, and settled my dicky tummy a treat.

my god this is the most stereotypical thread ive ever read!!!
aside from that i like a strong espresso rather than a finger up my bum earl of lenshester the fourth premium blend english surprise cup of tea....

Funny,
I was just sitting here drinking a schlong coffee mug's worth of Earl Grey, thinking, mmm...
I do love earl grey, with a sugar though, otherwise it can be bitter. I like my normal, (tetley), tea Continental Style though, with a lemon, and no milk.
*sips tea, as its hot*
mmm...

@786kbr. Was introduced to rooibos when in SA, and found it in Sainsbury's when i got back to uk. Excellent stuff provided it's pure and not a blend of normal tea and red. I have heard that drinking enough of it gives a natural high, anyone confirm this?

I cant wake up without my tea, im a tea junkie

it has to bee...
black tea!

I love Earl's Grey tea. I prefer to my my cupper in a mug with hot boiled water, brewed for 5 minutes, either sweetner or sugar (if its not available) and milk so its just the right temperature to drink.
I don't like PG Tips as i find that too strong and would go for Tetleys as my second choice.
I can drink anything between 2-5 cups a day (depending how thirsty or active i am).

Yorkshire Gold Tea (Taylors of Harrogate) with milk for me please!
Posted by methylated_spirit
And what about the new kid on the block, Lipton Ice Tea? I'm undecided. Its okay, but it's a little bland as compared to the real deal, i find.

Tea, tea, glorious tea, drink too much and it makes you pee...
