Visiting America - PAYG SIM

Hi,

I'm about to go traveling around North and South America for a couple of months and wanted to buy a pay as you go SIM. Whats the best deal to go for? and can I buy it before I go?

Any advice would be greatly appriciated.

You'll likely have to buy a prepaid SIM for every country/carrier. T-Mobile USA only works in the USA, but the best deal for them is to buy them off eBay. With one of those you can get over 200 minutes preloaded for less than $25 dollars. T-mobile however doesn't allow roaming even in the US on it's prepaid accounts so you may need to check your coverage before deciding.

I understand you can get a prepaid SIM in Mexico with less 60 minutes talk time for about $25US to get you started.
