I dont think its specific to devices with HTML browsers or smartphones. HTML Lite keeps me logged on on my 9500. Must be another factor.

No problems here with my Ngage Qd too..

i just logged in using Opera and it seems to be fine

Looks like its the default browsers which may be the culprit.

There are areas where Opera browsers are better than the built in Pxxx browser, and vise versa.
Try them both and see if that solves it.
Sometimes network suppliers change things in their system that effects areas they aren't aware of or they add a new SW that alters the net sightly.

it seems to be working fine on Opera as well as the internal browser now

Posted by zMastaa
i am using the o2 genie free gprs port 8080 so opera doesnt work

Welcome to my world. Had the same problem since october last year on HTML light.

Posted by Vlammetje
same thing here. On a V800 though. Funny thing is that all worked fine when I used vodafone branded software, but after debrand I could not ever stay logged in (and therefore not read PM's and such)

It's a pain..... I've come to think it may be down to how the software handles the data, but am far too a-technical to figure out the hows and whys.

my p900 is terrible for it, on both opera and the inbuilt software

@meths

OMG, a post out of garbage???

Posted by zMastaa
but only last week everything was fine ...

Posted by mrao
okie....i upgraded fro my p900 to a p910 this week....i was facing this html lite issue with the p900, but surprisingly....everything seems to be fine again with the new p910.....so im wondering if it was possibly a handset specific issue??

Posted by Pradhika
That has something to do with our network also. With airtel my login stays, whereas with hutch i have to relog for every post. Btw in html light, the relog is always to be done in my case.

nope as i said earlier last week it was workin perfect

Posted by mrao
maybe a temporary esato bug then....everything seems to be fine now

Posted by GPRS
its not the network, its the software of the phone installed. i have the same problem on my K750i but on my S700i im always logged

Posted by Pradhika
@Gprs. So does the software of the phone works different with diff networks?

Posted by mrao
seems to be the case

Posted by zMastaa
it cant be because as i just said earlier last week it was working perfect same phone same network same software

Posted by ten18
you dont stay logged in because free o2 gprs doesnt use cookies.. its been mentioned many times. even ask Mik!
If you use say... Orange GPRS, you will be able to login.. and stay logged in!
im fed up with o2, used to be able to login to some sites but cant login to anything now

Posted by zMastaa
thx for that

Posted by zMastaa
Wait a minute no how can that be? other store cookies on my phone and they work...its only esato......

Posted by ten18
which sites work?
some secure site like yahoo used to work but now even they dont work!

Posted by zMastaa
all forum sites and even google... even sites that have that you last visited cookie

Posted by ten18
thats very weird? you have an o2 online sim? are you using the settings from the free o2 gprs thread?

Posted by zMastaa
well the settings are similar but as long as it is port 8080 its all the same...right

Posted by 701
I have the same prob since December. No resolving yet

Posted by ten18
dont think its the same since your able to login to other websites. so what settings are you using? username, password, IP etc...?

Posted by zMastaa
i use a proxy the ip:port is on the proxy and the username and pass is on the normal

settings

o2 gprs ... connects to 'the internet'

o2 proxy ... connects from 'the internet' and connects to 'wap network'

internet explorer connects to 'wap network'

Posted by ten18
no idea what that means? are you using a wap connection?
if your using a wap dial up connection not gprs then that would explain why you can login to websites.

Posted by zMastaa
it is not a wap connection *sighs* the proxy is connect and named as wap connection just to sperate the connection

dude im using the same settings as everyone else...simple

Posted by zMastaa
because i got a windows mobile i had to do the sets diff

http://www.modaco.com/lofiversion/index.php/t108292.html

but as u can see the sets are the exact same but maybe because its windows??? i can get cookies

Posted by Kryptik
Had similar prob. When logging on directly to a bookmarked topic i get error message, yet when logging on and scrolling to the topic, THEN bookmarking it, i can log on to the new bkmark no probz. And those bkmarks are EXACTLY the same, yet one works and the other doesn't... Strange but true...

Posted by zMastaa
just noticed why i stay logged into other sites...cookies still on my phone from when i used a different sim card...but i can move cookies from my pc to my phone and i will see if that works

Posted by Kryptik
Found out that changing sims relieves the problem. Am now using the cheaper network with no problems whatsoever. (it's also much faster!)
