The BBC are still puting the number at 2.
On a mobile related issue:
Mobile phone services across London were jammed with all major networks reporting problems as people tried to contact relatives and friends. A spokeswoman for Vodafone said the emergency services were being given priority.

That is what happened in NY on 09/11..so yeah dont be suprise..the likes of the BNP are going to drive this message home. Sad

This was posted on CNN "The heroic mujahideen have carried out a blessed raid in London," the statement said, translated from Arabic.
Blessed Raid? how can that be blessed?
Posted by scotsboyuk
There is always speculation over deaths when such things happen. To be honest I think the death toll probably will rise given the nature of the attacks. All we can really do for those people is hope that they died as quickly and painlessly as possible.
Posted by batesie
no the BMP say
Our thoughts are for the families and loved ones of those murdered and injured in this morning’s blasts which will bring about another kind of climate change, in this case a political one.
and also
BNP Chairman, Nick Griffin is facing charges in the Crown Court later this year for making the stark warning that militant Islamics would punish Britain for our unpopular involvement in Bush’s war to secure Iraq’s oil supplies.
He specifically mentioned suicide bombers carrying out attacks on “soft targets” who were either asylum seekers of second generation Muslims recruited for their cause in places such as Bradford. If these bomb blasts are indeed the work of Islamic fundamentalists the prosecution case is likely to collapse. No one is likely to be convinced that crying wolf is unlawful when the wolf has just run riot through the lambs’ pen.
That is a good point

Well 1 double decker bus ripped apart must have had more than 2 passengers! It was full at that time? No survivors!
A relative of mine who works in a local prison, has been sent an email from the GOV - saying that muslims inside jail are now being targeted by other in-mates, because of whats happend this morning.
Posted by haynesycop
unfortunately i think that number is likely to rise
we will know more in the coming days
Posted by EastCoastStar
the news over here just said 20 have been found dead so far
were any of you close to anyone on it?
Posted by vanquish
It doesn't matter how many dead, there are more in serious pain, it's also the principal.
More and more could have easily died, what would have happened if that bus was near children? Or the tube detonated at a more public place! Its just terrible.
added sympathies on www.se-nse.com , esato should do the same.

Sorry mate but your completely wrong there...Islam has nothing to do with this at all...Like most religions Islam teaches peace and tolerance...You can't represent a whole race of people by the actions of the fanaticle few..back in the 80's and 90's when the IRA were attacking london did anyone blame christianity??...I don't think so.
These attacks were purely carried out for revenge of the Iraq War and it should not be connected with Islam in anyway..as these people who did this are not even muslims and have no knowledge or respect of their faith.
Posted by EastCoastStar
i know its not about how many people have died, i was just saying.
i nkwo news moves slow getting over here, but over there, do they have any idea of what happened?

If we are horrible towards the BNP, we are as bad as terrorists.
I once said i hated terrorists, then realised that i was as bad as them. We shouldnt tolerate racism etc. etc. but we arent perfect. I am currently listening to Pink : Misundazstood, and some of the songs are really moving after the london blasts
my lass friend got me it lol.
Posted by batesie
The BNP arent nazi's.
and i do have sympathy for someone that was actually trying to forewarn of what happened today and is to be taken to court for it?!!
this doesnt mean i agree with all their policies, it just means i care about homeland security and how shit MI5 and Charles Clark are for not seeing this coming.
Posted by JK
it was inevitable...
Posted by haynesycop
it truly hits home when something like this happens practically on your doorstep
but i dont think anything could have prevented this
it could have been alot worse
this is just a warning of how much damage could have been done
Posted by vanquish
You never know the situation batesie, we musn't judge. but i agree, if they had information that wasnt listened to then that is sad.
The BNP are just humans, with emotions. Some of their policies are absurd and shouldnt be tolerated, yet some are ok. I would never support the BNP, i feel their values are wrong, but they only want the best.
Lets not get off track guys, lets pay our respects.
Posted by EastCoastStar
so this is making everyone over there go crazy? like 9\11 did over here? the news here is leaving out alot of details...

I think Londoners are a lot more pragmatic about disaters than many people so it's more a feeling of getting on with things. We knew we were targets and we've dealt with the IRA for years.
cnn.com is providing very good coverage and the BBC news site (http://news.bbc.co.uk/) has live streaming video.

If they aren't nazi's what are they then?..Petrol bombing black & asian homes and places of worship...attacking people on the streets...you want me to have sympathy for Nick Griffin??...frankly I think he should be hanged.
You can't take serious what the BNP say....They are a bunch of fanaticle nazi thugs and should be treated as such.

No the BNP are Angels!....Of course they are nazi's,what do you call a party that goes around petrol bombing black & asian homes? attacking old people on the streets...as for Nick Griffin he should be hanged.
You take warnings from a right wing nazi party seriously..
If the government gave a damm about homeland security he would'nt have invaded a foreign country on basis of a pack of lies and killed a 100,000 of its people....and now we are paying the price for those lies.At the end of the day...intelligence and MI5 can only do so much,,someone will always slip through the net.at the end of the day its good and fair foreign policy that matters.

body counts at this time are usually inaccurate, we will be able 2 get a better picture later

The bus packed was with commuters when it exploded, ripping off the roof.

Other news coming in:

My condolences and sympathy to those who have lost loved ones in London.
This is something that has been coming for a while, security services have foiled previous attacks from what I've seen on the news over the past few years, but eventually something like this will happen, it's been a case if when, not if.
I hope this doesn't lead to a an increase in Islamophobia, what no one wants is a war drawn on religious lines.
It will be interesting to see how people's views and opinions in the UK on how to deal with terrorism and peoples' attitudes in general, as there has now been an attack on British soil.
Just heard on the radio that some buses are now running in London, though the Underground is still shut and sealed off.
