Wow it's quiet here. Let's talk about the weather...

And I'm guessing all the very active participants in this thread will be voting for this as the 'Best Regional Thread

Posted by goldenface
Nice try Shaliron - that should get you all of 3 votes

What is the weather like atm? You having one of those lovely mild winters?

Posted by shaliron
@goldenface
Every vote counts That's what they keep telling us. You won't be laughing when we take win the Esato award. I know where my loyalty lies

And yes, the weather is nice and mild. A good amount of rain as well - and that's a great thing IMO. Our water is very low - was less than 30%, but now up a little.

How's the weather up there in the UK?

Posted by goldenface
Yeah, you Aussies always sticking together.

I haven't voted yet, I have still a lot to consider before I do as some of the votes need looking into.

Weather? Grim as a Granny.

Posted by shaliron
Haven't voted eh? You still have a chance of conversion - vote Aussie!

But I'm still thinking 'bout my votes as well. Especially the 'Best European Member'

Howz about it? You vote for the Aussie regional, and you'll get a nomination for 'Best Euro'

Bribery is so much fun

G'day Lads,

How are we doing this fine day. (Not really fine wet and cold in Vic)

Anyone one got any news on new SE phones hitting AU soon? My K800i is almost dead, if I don't kill it first.

Hanging for K850 to replace it even the T650. Might even go the P1i. I hope something isn't far off.

Cheers,

rEEzA

Posted by shaliron
@reeza
Well, it doesn't seem like the K810's coming to Australia does it? Not even Three has it yet, which is surprising, because we were among the first to get the W880.

The K550 and W610 have already started selling, but I'd expect the T650 to arrive by the end of August.

BTW, do you have a Whirlpool account. If so, there's a guy called 'Bunbury' who normally knows quite a bit about upcoming phones. Just give him a whim.

Posted by reeza
Hey shaliron. Yeah got a WP account. I may just do that. Cheers.

Yeah I've seen the K810i in a hand full of shops in the CBD but it's to close to the K800i which is giving me the sh*ts.

I'm thinking the T650 is the way to go. I always loved my T610.

Posted by shaliron
Yeah, the T650 is looking very appealing.

Only thing, if you're coming from the K800/810 is the screen size (which is smaller than the K800's) and the camera ain't as good as the K800's.

Otherwise, it's so sleek that it makes up for all its misgivings

Posted by SE4NICK
Just like Shaliron i want to see this thread win the best international thread award, so come on aussies vote NOW. check my sig.

Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi

Posted by reeza
Yeah the screen size is a real turn off. But your right it is so sleek.

Never been a fan of Nokia, but there is something about the new 6110 that's drawing me to it as an alternative if the K800 dies.

The GPS is nice but I think it's the OS, never tried a symbian. Maybe i'm just bored or the fact the K800 only lasted a year.

Posted by reeza
Sorry SE4NICK

Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi

Posted by SE4NICK
Haha thats better ty

Posted by shaliron
@reeza
The 6110 does look pretty nice, although the camera is pretty average. Seems like a lot of phones are getting the standard 2MP non-AF cameras nowadays. And the size is a little large but the rest sounds pretty nice.

I'd personally pick the E65 instead.

Posted by reeza
Any thoughts on the P1i? That shouldn't be to far off our shores.

I think I heard of a late July release in Europe/Asia, so perhaps we'll see it sometime in August.

But that's assuming one of the telco is going to pick it up in Australia.

Posted by SE4NICK
I doubt Telstra will take it due to this new NEXT G thing. The'll want to focus on it and all the "smart phone" "blackberry things" on NEXT G such as samsung black jack.

My bet is IF we even get it it will be on vodafone....

Posted by goldenface

Not one Aussie symbol in the whole thread - tut, tut, tut.
Jeez guys the South African thread puts you to shame. If you want the regional award you've got some campaigning to do.

Posted by shaliron
@SE4NICK
And I reckon Three wouldn't want another high end smartphone in addition to their Dopod range.

I can imagine them taking the W960 though.

@goldenface
Unfortunately the flag that you have posted is the wrong shade of blue. Tut, tut, tut. Can't believe that you'd want to make a mockery of our flag in our own thread

Here's what the true blue flag looks like:

Posted by Alexandra
Fine. Does anyone know when we're getting the W960 over here? I don't reckon it'll be simfree, and cuz ill probably be in Year 10 when it comes out, I don't think I'll be allowed to get it.

Aussie things I absolutely HATE:

The Australian Labor Party
101.9 Fox FM
Bruce Baddeley (my history teacher)
Toyota Camry
Rogue Traders and those kinda bands
The ABC and The Age
Smokers and pro-abortion activists
Greens and crazy liberal lefty mairijuana smokers
My mother but she's Greek!

@missuk

aussies only here kidding. We all fine, i guess. Apart from the mrs pi***ng me off!

@alexandra

w960i, id say about december we will get it. its meant to be out in europe about oct/nov (though some swedish sites some end of this month) if voda get it or 3, it will be branded, telstra and optus wont brand it much, if anything, just a little network icon in the main menu!

no, im not the problem . dont worry, tis a long story. all i can say is, there will, 'most likely', be one more single girl in this world soon

Posted by Miss UK
Nothing wrong with being single tho,
once she's gone im sure she will never look back

Lmao! do as your told I bet your one of these messy gets innit

Posted by Alexandra
@>500

I am with Vodafone using a simfree K800i, but I don't think I'd ever spend money on one of their phones. The icons are ugly and the menu structure has been completely modified. I have a feeling that Voda are also going to change the "Back" and "C" keys to "yes" and "No" keys. Oh well, there is always my good friend Mrs. Wotan Server

This thread isn't very active, unlike some of the other regional threads. C'mon Aussies, let's win best regional thread WITHOUT bribing whizkidd

When is that K750i gonna get the axe

Posted by Sturmeh
When we are all rich bstards that can afford the latest phones?

lol.

Posted by Miss UK
Getting the latest phone is easy take out a contract lol

Posted by Alexandra
@miss uk

The K750 might not have the flashy looks, but I'd rather have a K750 than most of 's recent releases.

Posted by Miss UK
Thye Silver K800i is nice but I just got bored of it like all I get bored of them, The P1i looks good but ive got a Nokia N80 which isd smaller and does everything that does

W660 would be ok as a back-up phone but then i'd rather go for a Samsung G600 if I could get it free or at a fraction of the cost.

K750i is just too old now it's a ok phone but i'd want more
