Hey, there's a store in Parramatta which sells the T630 (black) unlocked for $269. Only thing is that you need to do it over ebay, but you can pay cash in hand and pick it up on the spot, so its from a shop, but you just make the order via ebay.
Let me know if you need the link.

unlcoked for 269, thats a bloody good deal if i ever saw one

Hey,
I'm from Melbourne and recently purchased an SE k700i..... but of course it was from Bloody Vodafone.....
So apart from the fact that you can't use Mp3's as ringtones, what other functions have been removed??
Anyone know anyone who can debrand/flash it?
Cheers

Yeah but maybe because they are busy working

How soon does Australia get the new models? Considering that most of the manufacturers have assembly plants nearby.
Posted by gelfen
usually a month or two after the EU. if the EU gets a phone at the start of Q3 2005, then don't expect it here until the end of Q3 or start Q4.
although the mobile market in australia is generally early at adopting new technology, it's relatively small and so less important than the EU, north america and china. one advantage though is that mobiles generally get a good going-over OS before reaching our shores, and so in theory are well tested and less buggy.

i think im the only perthian regular here......thats why i am the bomb..ya dig?
Posted by gelfen
diggit yo ma brudda!
Posted by brix25
@gelfen: How many subscribers on all the networks?
Posted by gelfen
can you clarify that please?
Posted by brix25
@gelfen: I think that was simple question. Again I'll ask, how many GSM users on all the networks in Oz?
Posted by gelfen
sorry, but that sort of detail isn't easy to track down. i just wanted to be clear that you realised what you were asking.
the best i can come up with so far is that as of 2002, 72% of australian households had "access to a mobile phone" (from the Australian Bureau of Statistics):
i would expect that number to be higher now.
in terms of market share for mobile phone providers, as at 30 June 2004 (from Phonechoice.com.au):
Telstra 48%
Optus 31%
Vodafone 18%
Others 3%
i also expect this to have changed, with a swing away from telstra and a larger share to "Others" (i.e. smaller providers such as Virgin Mobile, B Clear and Simple and a couple of others).

Hi Guys as most of you are aware the K750i is just around the cnr. When the T68, T610 and K700 came out there was BIG differences in prices for it outright. It might be good to state who has got the phone in the cites and for how much. Or if there are any good plans arround.
If the K700 is anything to go by we will see it around the 1st of july. I will keep my eye out in Melbourne.

What sport?
Tennis.

Cricket and Football (soccer).
Posted by masseur
F1 and athletics, which reminds me, weren't our olympics great! I managed to get along to the stadium for a few athletics events including Cathy doing her 400m!
Posted by brix25
Last year I lost all interest in F1...watching paint dry seemed a more exciting prospect.
Posted by gelfen
yeah, watching cars drive around in circles isn't my favourite past-time.
personally, i follow aussie rules football (REAL footy!
Posted by masseur
cricket, like golf and fishing, is my idea of watching paint dry!
oh! its making me yawn just thinking about it...
Posted by k4m!k4ze
golf boring.. ok . fishing boring... ok but cricket boring ??
Posted by gelfen
i never used to like cricket that much, then one summer holidays i had nothing much better to do so i spent a lot of time watching an ashes series. after a few days of constant exposure i finally understood what all the fuss was about - i suppose it just sort of "clicked" - and i've been a fan ever since. i also found watching the ODIs gave a better appreciation for the test matches (and vice versa to a lesser degree).

CRICKET IS THE BEST SPORT EVER INVENTED!!!!!

I'm sorry, I can't get my head around it.
@gelfen - You live in Melbourne and don't like F1? Shame!
Posted by gelfen
look, i'd probably go if someone else oraganised it but not if i had to arrange it myself. however, i generally won't watch it on tv.
Posted by Davo_169

no idea what either of those programs are. Guess I'm a little out of touch with Aussie TV at the mo.
I was chatting with my wife at the weekend about our fav comedy shows. Who remembers The Comedy Company with kylie mole and uncle arthur etc? actually I bought the DVD set when I was back home last month. We always liked Hey Dad! too (with one of those Buchannen sisters - can't remember which one... Simone maybe?)

Posted by masseur
yeah of course. it went for 20 odd years. it was a religion for us to watch that on a saturday night
whats happened to Darryl Somers these days? I thought I saw him on some celebrity ballroom dancing show when I was back last month
Posted by Davo_169
yeah strictly ballroom or something....or was it dancing with the stars...i dunno but hes doing something like that.
Posted by masseur
lets not forget the D Generation with some great people like Jane Kennedy and Rob Stitch etc who went on to make movies like The Castle and The Dish
Aussie humour is the best

i remember my family used to watch the comedy co. religiously every sunday night.
i also used to like frontline (another d-gen spin-off).
