oh yeah bummer aye
we did come back pretty good aye, it pisses me off about the telecast of it though. all of the tests in the eastern states get telecast for the whole 5 days, but when it comes to WA we only get a measly little 3 hours or airtime per day
HEY HEY THIS IS NUMBER 300 FOR THE AUSSIE THREAD
Posted by gelfen
All Tests and ODIs have abbreviated coverage in their home city unless sold out - which sucks in Melbourne since the MCG Is twice the size of any other cricket ground in the country, so even with twice the attendance it's still not 'sold out'.

Just a quick question guys, where in Aus have you found the best place to get SE accessories? Is there a suggested online store you would recommend?

Woo! An Aussie section of the forum! Can I just ask, does anybody use a k500i? I've bought one 2 days ago and havent experienced any problems with it (so far) but I have read that some people (most likely in overseas countries) have experienced an easily damaged/scratched/peeling of the housing just around the screen. Just like to know if anyone Down Under has experienced this. Oh, and does anyone know where I can get those funky plastic cases/cover things for my k500i (not online though). Cheers fellas!

Why would you DO that?? Especially when the Z1010 is being sold at rock-bottom prices on Prepaid. You can unlock it for an extra $20.

Im dying to come home! Been in uk for 4 years and think Ive finally had enough. miss the family and friends!!!! Enjoy the sunshine guys!
Posted by masseur
I've been in Europe as long as you it seems and though I used to get home every 7 weeks I have only been home once in the last 2 years
can't wait. visiting friends and checking our storage (cars, furniture etc) in Sydney for a couple of days and also Townsville to see my parents for a few days. Hoping to get down to Melbourne too but the commitments I already have, have taken up most of my time

Hey Massuer,
Same here I used to get to Aus about twice a year but havent been back for a good year and a half. Where abouts are you based? Im in London and a bit sick of the unfriendliness of it all. Made some great friends here but it always amazes me how english people are only friendly when they are drunk! Well a generalisation (sorry guys) but in most cases! I guess its just London. I really should go see other parts of england but Im always drawn to Scandanavia and Italy!
Anyway back to work!
Posted by masseur
based down near Gatwick with my wife and kids because I fly back and forth to Frankfurt every week for work and its a very convenient airport and quick to get through
you're not one of the Earls Court mob who visit the church are you?
I love Scandinavia and actually worked in Stockholm for 6 months about 5 years ago now and we've been to Copenhagen to the Tivoli Christmas markets nearly every year we've been in Europe. Don't really like Italy unfortunately
its been a while since I spent much time in London so can't comment about your observation... actually the sooner we can get back to Oz the better. Planning that in 18 months now when my eldest finishes his GCSE as we can't muck him about too much
there are some great areas of England. If you like walking get down to Dorset coast or up to the lake district or wales. Norfolk is pretty good if you like boating type stuff and everyone must visit Scotland too IMHO

Yo, greetings to all aussies, happy new year to you all. ;-) good to see that we have our own thread, too many northern hemisphere members on this forum, we need to make our presence felt! @masseur, had no idea that you are an aussie, good stuff! Seems that through you we do indeed have some influence on esato. Good work! :-)
Posted by masseur
thanks, I try
hows it going back there? Tassie is one place I have never been to though I have been tempted to cross the bass strait a few times frmo moorabin in the light aircraft I fly
Posted by twerg
@masseur, its cold here in tassie! Not sure whats happened to summer, uv probably got better weather where you are. Quiet here, just had 'taste of Tasmania', if you have not been back to oz recently its food, drink, arts etc festival down at Salamanka. Sydney to Hobart finished few days ago, many boats trashed, bad weather. Any way, all is good here, and welcome back to oz when you arrive.
Posted by masseur
yeah saw some of the Sydney to Hobart on tv, didn't look good, not my kind of fun
57 days till I land back in Syndey... not that I am counting the days
Posted by twerg
What, not looking forward to coming back to your home land? Or, it seems that you travel abit, is it just another outing for you. I think You mentioned that you have not seen your pare's for a while, not looking forward to that? Or am i confusing you with someone else? Blah. By the way, your a lucky devil to be able to fly around this beautiful country known as australia. Just hope the fire bugs stay away this year. Bastards!

I agree Italy is a bit weird due to the nature of italians doing things in every impossible way. Im italian but raised in Australia so I love going to see the homeland and visit the galleries. Im a designer and painter therefore Italy is a great source of inspiration. AND I love my food!!
The Tivoli gardens are magical. I was there 2 weeks ago actually, very cold but brilliant. Like a fairytale wonderland full of hot scandanavians. Two of my best friends live there so I guess Ive been about 40 times since being here!! And Amsterdam is very cool, I worked there for 6 months.
No Im not part of the Earl's court mob. In fact I dont know any aussies here which maybe is a bit strange. Apart from a few I work with that is. But none in my circle of friends. Anyone else from aus living in London or Europe?

Hi all, anyone else from Hobart here apart from myself? Interested if there was anyone else out at Syrup or the Telegraph Street Party. We had 4 german doof groups down, plus several other international acts spinning some wicked beats. I made it through about 19 hours of partying, more to be had but it sure gets tiring!
Posted by Davo_169
yeah i was wonderin are there any perth peeps other than me browsing esato

Nuther aussie here from Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula.
Got a p800 which has now been retired and now using a k700i.
Found the p800 too bulky and made my pants fall down
Posted by masseur
g'day! where abouts? Frankston or further around? I last lived in Melbourne at Chelsea Heights myself and Brighton before that
edit: btw listening to a bit of classic INXS and Icehouse at the mo...

AUSTRALIANS WHERE ARE YOU!!!
Posted by Davo_169
how are we all tonight
it seems the WA state election is just around the corner, if there are any west australian here apart from myself, please comment on who you might vote for and colin barnetts rediculous water canal propsal...also what are your veiws on sunday trading
Posted by masseur
do yo uguys still not have sunday trading over that side?
I remember when NSW and VIC didn't have it and I hated it but its been more than 10 years since we've been able to shop on Sundays
Posted by Davo_169
yeah, saturdays vote will say if we do have it or not
did it affect small businesses in any way over there, like deli's and general stores etc. because if coles and woolies have sunday too, theyll have almost the whole market
Posted by masseur
I have to say that alot of the smaller corner shop style stores didn't do so well but the milk bars etc thrived because there were more people about
I gotta say I like having the choice to go to westfields or whatever on saturday or sunday but I do find it amazing that there seems to be as many people in the shops on either day
I also remember you couldn't buy meat after 12:00 on saturday which was ludicrous but that went at the same time sunday trading was brought in
