Hutch's proxies have stopped working with HutchWorld (Rs. 99 per month GPRS) in Karnataka. Accessing internet on computer through HutchWorld is no longer possbile.
Further, data usage charges make even browsing on the phone expensive.
Please suggest a suitable service provider in Karnataka for accessing unlimited GPRS internet on computer. A subscription free from data usage charges, time limits and download limits is preferable.

Where are you? Why da heck take up jazzy names & then shy away from saying you from India !
Orange in Bombay, is going to allow new postpaid n All prepaid cards to go with the 99/- basic scheme till Sep 05.
Pan India, the CDMA providers, the Tata's n Reliance have good plans.
In MP/Mah., Idea charges the least, service is ok ok (used it when in Poona as they partner Hutch)
Airtel ofcourse is again Pan India & aggresive. Support thou isa fcuk up!
I suggest stick to Hutch (prepaid)till Sep. @Rs. 99/-

HUtch aint givin "web" gprs for 99/-, plain vanilla wap...on prepaid they charge 199/- for "Hutch Access"
Posted by sailaab
And even on top of the 199/- theres' volume (usage) charge. Funny that they subsidize prepaid users, by charging 499+ usuage based charge to the Postpaid (billing) customers of 'Orange Access' ( the full service for web access using onez phone as modem). And that too a measly 14-15 kbps (again Max. speed- actual may be less) with the MMS facility barred
I'd rather connect a dial-up serv. thru cellphone- pay the "fixed" outgoin call charge- use BT to access web on Comp. !
Posted by mrao
@sai...i think they give 100MB inclusive in the 499/- for postpaid users....over 100mb used to be 50p for every 10kb

@sin, where in india are you located?
Posted by mrao
@sin...all providers have plugged their loopholes now...so no point in looking for proxies that may work...get a data connection and pay for it like an honest tax paying citizen
Posted by Pradhika
Mind it, in hutch prepaid setup, the gprs just walks lol.

Guess what...looks like Airtel will jump onto tthe charge per kbps bandwagon soon..i just looked at my bill..and theres an asterisk against the mobile office saying "Limited period offer. We reserve the right to switch to pay per kbps anytime"
i guess thats that

A detailed comparison of gprs services of service providers in Karnataka would be of immense help. Call center creatures confuse constantly!!!

What's exploiting loopholes got to do with paying taxes? Your chartered accountant would surely exploit loopholes before filing your tax returns.

I don't mind paying upto Rs. 500 a month for unlimited internet access on my computer system in Karnataka. The connection should be free from data usage charges, time limit and download limit. Help!

Do you really expect people to be forthcoming with solutions ( i dont see a problem anywhere) , while you remain not so forthcoming , even with basic things as where youre located...???
Take a hike, pal
