Avantgo Crashing P910i - Esato archive

I have loaded Avantgo sw onto my P910i and ever since I have had nothing but white screen crashes on a daily basis especialy when closing the flip.
It's a really handy program and would like to keep using it has anyone else had similar problems or have any advioce as to why I am getting so many crashes?

I did try it and it didnt seem to crash my phone but I couldnt get it to sync properly anyway so gave up and deleted it. I find wap is more upto date now anyway.

I've been using V5.7 Build 35 for some time now and it's fine - no crashes.

The only difficulty is that it occasionally takes 2 attempts to sync.

Same thing happened to me when l tried it before. l just deleted it and used mobipocket with no regrets.

I too have had no problems with V5.7 Build 35. The synchronisation is a problem though. Suggestion - if the problem is when you close the flip, why don't you use SMan to close it by selecting "Flipclose flush"? Also make sure your phone's firmware is up to date.

Try Mobipocket as an alternative - I personally haven't tried it but it's worth a shot if AvantGo is a problem.

Thanks for the replys I have looked into mobipocket but it seems to be an ebook reader rather than an offline channel reader can you sync it with channels?

Actually just thought of something else. Better not attempt to ask Avanygo to sync when you are doing a regular sync.

Reason? Avanygo will trash the regular sync which means that the next time you try it, the Phone will want to do a full sync. How do I know this? Because it happened to me a few times. Normally the SE full sync is a troublesome beast but today it went fine: same as a regular sync but just took a little longer.

Try Avantgo - it's really pretty good.

Yes, Mobipocket has news channels which allow you to sync with your device. Try it out, it has a free trial period for the pro-reader but you can continue using the standard one. It seems like a great alternative to AvantGo!

@Geezay Thanks for the reply, I already have SMAN flip flush activated thats why I was so perplexed but I have now followed your lead and gone over to V5.7 Build 35 and hey presto no more problems! must just be the version supplied on the app disc with the phone that was causing probs. I was going to look at upgrading Firmware but simply cant face the task of reinstalling all my apps etc at the moment!
