There is a thread about them here :
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=94960
It seems that they see Samsung as a threat considering their designs (mainly sliders and flips), but I think
have got the better quality phones.
What do you think?

Who cares, Nokia are Nokia, SE are SE and I prefer SE. Much better quality etc. innovation, YES INNOVATION
Posted by dave_uk
It's a fair question. Unfortunately, this is bound to go the same way as most of these Nokia vs
debates Posted by Super G
didnt quite show anything about innovation today. Or maybe one: disappointment. New to
?
As to quality: the numerous flaws affecting K750i prove the contrary
Posted by vanquish
Wait right there.
Revolutionary products are coming from Sony Ericsson. At the end of the year we shall see the release of a 3g smartphone. HDD products, more and more phones. The K750 will not be getting a CCD camera however the suspected K800 will be. Also, a Z850 is possibly to come.
It is a mid range release. The S600 is very compact. For some live reports visit www.se-nse.com

hi all.... if its going as a comparison and the threat against SE.. then i would really like you to see my thread too

You're right,
needs to catch up.
Posted by vanquish
They ARE going to be catching up soon! In fact they already have started.
Posted by ares
Considering k750 is been considered the killer phone of the year so far, in almost all reviews, they´re not too bad right now
Posted by vanquish
Exactly what i'm trying to say!
Posted by sunjivas
going purely by what has been released by nokia and sony ericsson today as the title suggests - the two releases are not comparable. Even as a se fan, i feel nokia have outdone se big time. However, we must take into consideration the fact that se have more released phones for certain user groups whereas nokia they are more all higher end which is what all of us look for which is why we think sony ericsson hasn't produced aswell in this release.

Nokia did a wide range release with flips and slides and some 2mp cams and so ... GOOD ... but really nothing SE haven't allready released b4 them ...
Posted by $hé®îNghÀm3:16
I think its time to pull out the big guns.
Your right in that the k750 is the killer at the moment but, in every review i have read so far they all claim it being a great middle ranged phone.
A k750 is good but sony are begining to lack in high end phones. Other brands such as nokia are producing them left, right and centre.
Posted by S4k1s
Sony?
Posted by rajasekharan_v
what do you mean by highend models of nokia.....?....do you think they make good models....those plastic body.....good for nothing looks.... slow processoers.....only good thing is the O.S..... thats all and so many stupid customers behind them ....BLINDLY......
Posted by Pradhika
Here in our country SE offers more features compared to any other model of the same price. And so SE in itself means a lot more.
Posted by rajasekharan_v
@ Pradhika.....yeah....you are spot on mate.....
Posted by ianchris21
SE K750 is great!!!
Posted by c_vignesh

What about price drop- se drops like mad. My 6260 dropped 100bucks for 7 month. Se t 630 dropped (as i remember) from 400 to 200 for 9 months
Posted by rajasekharan_v
yeah....cheers for SE......

The price policies depend from country to country and from one operator to another.U cant really say if nokia looses mor value than SE or something.

just manage to saw the new Nokia model.
the puzzling part for me is how come suddenly some of their phone have antenna haha....especially those clam shell phone.
puzzling as they are the pioneer in making internal antenna for mobile phone but now I am seeing it again.
Overall the design of all the new nokia phone is quite boring....maybe they are releasing this phone to certain group....business group compare to SE which is announcing phone which is mainly for the hip and fun group.
If some of you notice...SE actually announced 5 phone...the other one is basically for Japan....but tht is an upgrade of their previous version of CDMA1X phone for KDDI japan....A1404S
The ID is nice for this phone and the exciting thing is the phone come with 3.2 megapixel cmos camera.
Posted by mario2002
Do any of the new phones from SE support EDGE ?
Posted by Gigs
yes, 1 does.
The proof will be in the using and for that we'll just have to wait for numerous peeople on Esato to buy the phones and give us reviews on what they find.
Posted by goldenface
@C96sthl Thanks. What is that phone called? Has it been redesigned? 3.2Mp? Someone post a pic please.
Posted by Rifqi_Aziz
Why only 4 new SE phones?
It should be 5 is W600 also counting.
Or W600 is for USA market only? Too bad... because W600 is very good with its 256 MB internal memory.

I know I'm gonna get flamed for saying this but the truth hurts...
I was a Nokia user changed Sony Ericsson since the 630, but I have to say if the k750 successor is NOT symbian and is buggy I will definitley go back to Nokia.
Firmware is supposed to enhance your product and give you more features, not remove bugs,
when a phone is launched it should be bug free, I can understand branded phones but when an unbranded phone is full of bugs then you know something is wrong, as for the quick launch why did they advertise it a year earlier if they don't want to be pressured into launching it... as well as these are billion dollar companies we're talking here they should be able to with the thousands of workers and reasearchers they have to bring out a bug free phone.
I would gladly pay an extra 100-200$ for a symbian bug free k750.
Posted by sampleit
hmm well darky im yet to see a new release nokia that aint buggy! they usually take about a year after there release to sort out there firmware especially there smartphones. i know so many ppl that have to send a nokia back after a week! but all phones have bugs to start with tell me one company that doesnt?? infact tell me a pc that doesnt? fact is se are more reliable than nokia with more quality than quantity. i was was a nokis die hard till the p900 came along!!! one more thing if u do get a problem on ya se at least you can repair it online without having to send you phone off for repair for a fourtnight!!!!

Or from any other manufacturer, including SE, Motorola, Samsung etc.
Posted by mib1800
when i bought my nokia 6670 when it was just released, I never had a single crash or freeze. Even now (with no upgrade in firmware), it never crash/freeze eventhough I have installed hundreds of software (and I'm not talking about harmless java programs). And if you dont know, 6670 is a smartphone and the firmware (i.e. O/S) is much more complex and advanced than the K750i.
so stop trying to defend SE for K750 blunder by diverting attention (a.k.a "other people do it so it is OK for SE to do it")
Posted by ianchris21
how about trying the samsung d-500? balita ko maganda daw video and picture quality.
Posted by Gigs
Despite what Nokias unofficial PR agent above says.. It's true that all manufacturers have a hell of a time with firmware. Why are SE's more commonly buggy? Because this is an SE forum. Goto any specialised forum and each will appear about as trusty as the Exxon valdeze carrying oil any great distance of more than a meter or two.
You only have to look at the K750i threads to see that some poeple have no issues at all while others do.
Posted by ianchris21
sorry, but didn't get your point... i'm confused.
Posted by korbindallis
Let me add light to this discssion
i brought my K750i in May on the 28th ya thats just days after it realised i got the first batch
and i never had a single freeze in the phone
the thing is solid oh the soft keys may make a little sound when pressed hard thats about it
and not a single scratch on the glass
i guess i am lucky
why dont we get some numbers as to how many phones are buggy at both SE and nokia's end
and then settle this issue once and for all
SE K750i rules
Posted by turt
I bought mine on May 23 and didn't have any problem at all either, so I agree with korbindallis
Posted by Matteus
Samsung released 50 models. Is the nokia the house of sunset? Are the Asia the winner of the wireless?
Posted by tazgalsinh
my k750 bought on 02 on the week of release is perfect as well, no freeze ups or major bugs found.

@Gigs: The point here is that there are more complaints than usual for K750i, on this forum at least. This does mean something. Also the fact that some operator are no longer selling this phone for a while is also proof that something's wrong. Manufacturers are under constant pressure to deliver more phones with more functionality and have a harder time fighting bugs before launch. However, it is a completely wrong attitude to use this as an excuse. As a customer, one expects a bug-free phone.

Or a 7650 ;-) and the k750i can't even send a mms bigger then 100kb.Try to send one if you don't believe me :-)
Posted by mib1800
@Gigs
yes. we all know that every manufacturers has it fair share of firmware bugs but for a non-smartphone like K750 to freeze up while phone is idle is really very bad indeed. (if it freezes on you while u r playing with it then it is not as bad)
This is a quality problem SE has to address it. this issue will not go away by bashing other phone makers.
you can go to nokia boards and count how many people are complaining that a specific nokia model froze up while the phone is not being used or left idle.
i will be pretty pissed off if i bought a phone and i kept worrying that it will hang/froze while in my pocket. it may not have frozen on you yet but you know it can happen because other people already encounter the problem. The phone is like broken at the time u bought it and u can't use it with confident until the next firmware update.
What a sorry state.

You forget that many Nokia phones are network, country etc. specific. There are quite a few crap nokias I notice as i browse through this cpw mag, sure there are some top ones but they're only a few. considering nokia are a more established company, larger, etc. then they have a 'right' to release many more phones, with high specs. but even if there is a 3:1 ratio of phones from nokia to sony ericsson, the specs are the same. so nokia may release three two megapixel phones, and sony ericsson may release just one, the sony ericsson phone is still as good or better than any of the three nokias released.
it all comes down to who is bigger, who has more support, more market share. sony ericsson don't want to waste money in releasing loadsa new phones that won't sell, they concentrate their expertees on a model at a time. so even though nokia may have hundreds of phones out there, the sony ericsson phones, not in ratio but in comparison of technology and capabilties, are still right up there at the top!
Posted by mario2002
Make that ratio 6:1 buddy and is closer to the truth ;-)
Posted by turboy
Can't be 6:1.
SE have 17 if not 18 phones for release this year so Nokia cannot possibly have 102!
SE 2005 models :
J200
T290
K300
Z800
K600
V600
J300
D750
K750
W800
K608
J210
Z520
S600
W600
+ 2, maybe 3 new announcements in September.

Huh buddy, you seem to confuse the words 'announced' and 'released'.Actually I was refering to market share overall.Anyway have it your way.Greetings from South Africa.Mario :-)

Benq-Siemens is coming with 35 new phones this year! The markets are hardening! But S-E is not the looser! I think the looser will be the bricket phones i.e. over 100g weight.
