im buying a new k500i in a coupla days. i askd abt the brice at sony world and they said that it was for 8.7k (in pune)
Will i get it cheaper elsewhere, and how much does the cell cost on average?
(i want the bill and warranty)

As far as i know, sonyworld prices are much steeper than the prices at other dealers..i'd say you check out with other dealers too. There surely won't be any dearth of mobile phone shops in pune!

8.7k is a good price...if youre getting it from Sony World...why dont you get a k508i instead..or better still a k700i

Yeah. Thats a good price....but if you can get it for much less from other dealers, no harm eh? Just look around a bit....might find a better deal! Sonyworld in bombay sucks!

@whizz...not anymore...sony world has knocked off the steep prices and has very competitive prices displayed...
@manish...abhijit wants to get a k series..the j series is no match..if you wanna make a suggestion, pls recommend something comparable

8k is a great price if its with bill and warranty...be sure to check if its running updated firmware...you can get info on firmware versions in the k500/k700 firmware thread..cheers

the differences I found between k500 and k508 which have not already been mentioned here:
almost every site says that k508 has thickness = 19.5mm or .8 inches compared to k500 14mm or .6 inches..
when it comes to weight . k508 is 88g whereas k500 is 80g
I also read somewhere that k508 screen is smaller than k500 which i think is not true. ..
and here in pakistan .. ppl in the market say that k508 records longer movie clips and k500 doesnt.... absurd
can anyone confirm all this ? and whats with that additional thickness and weight when the models are exactly the same

Don't buy the K500i... this piece of shit really sucks. No bluetooth and poor pic resolution... a total no-no.

I ain't got nuthin against Sony Ericsson handsets, in fact I'm a big fan. All I'm tryin to say is that the K500i really freakin' sucks so much that I ran back to the store and got me a phatt SE K750i...
And here... as you can see... I like this model MUCHO better!
