Why do most people in here hate or dislike nokia? ok its a Sony Ericsson forum but why so much dislike for nokia!? nokia are great at what they do? which is sell phones to the most of the mobile market! they give people what they need, ok Sony Ericsson has far more advanced phones, but nokia know how to sell what they have, i just think its a bit childish to say things like "nokia's sh*t" "nokia suck".

I've never owned a Nokia. I've just always liked Ericsson. Quaff

Posted by Superluminova
yeah but is that a valid reason to hate nokia?

Hi.. I think nokia is grait. But at the moment i think the don't impres me much. But se do that. Cheers sven

I don't hate Nokia. They've got good phones, but SE have the best phones. Quaff

It's not that I hate nokia, I even just purchased a 3510 for my ex-g/f (it was a contract, hence it was free) since she needed one right now and didn't want to go through the process of learning to use a new phone and I didn't want her to spend a lot of money on functions she'll probably never use on the T68.

The thing is they are the leaders on their market, right, but that doesn't mean they don't have to take care of their current customers and focalised only on new products, that's all.
See my other post and you'll see what I mean... I just hate them for that, that's no way to do business

I used to love Ericsson until i got several 788/768 that died on me. After that i changed to nokia and never thought i'd get another Ericsson. At the time when T68 came along i was tired of nokia releasing the same model over and over again with just minor hardware upgrading. basically any Nokia from 6110 and forward is the same.

Tried the 68 and hated it for beeing slow and unresponsive but i kept it anyway. After all, it WAS cool with the colordisplay...

With the new sofftware and the MCA-20 i'm a happy camper. Going to go for the P800 as my next phone.

What i don't like with the new SE phones is that they look fisherprice-ish. IE. They look like childrens toys.

Just MHO ofcourse...

My mate had to Nokias(8210 and 7110) both crashed all the time. Over the same period(2 yrs) I had a T10 and T28. Never had anything like the problems my friend had with his. So thats why I NOKIA
Maybe if they improve, I'll take these back. But I think they're starting to lose the edge they once had.

I have the function to buy mobiles to people where I work. 2-4 new mobiles a month. I have myself both Nokia and SE. It because Nokia has given the functions priority they sell more phones to ordinary people who mostly talk and send sms. SE has made some progress in functions, but sorry to say... they are still far from what the average man/woman want... and what they are able to manage on a mobile.

Posted by odyig
we hate nokia bec. although they make good looking phones (this was before t68) it lacks in features, and costs a fortune! nokia only has an edge over ericsson in terms of marketing (which they charge unto the consumers) but other than that they're nothing compared to SE!

And you can say this, because you have owned sooo many Nokia phones...

Posted by Froddan
Well I've had Motorola microtac, Panasonic G450, Nokia 7110, and none of them has ever crashed.
And then I bought a t68, troubled times came... I love my t68 for a lot of reasons, design, features... But, I can't rely on it, it misses calls, crashes, turns off by itself... And since I don't have a normal landline phone, I have to be able to trust my cell phone, which I'm sorry to say I can't with the t68.
Ok, comparing these mentioned phones is a bit unfair towards the t68. It has a lot more features, which means more possible problems.
But then I got a Nokia 7650, which has the same amount of features (except BT hf) as the t68, and it has never missed any calls or crashed.

@Orange

I never owned a BMW eighter, but I still think Audi is a better car.
You might claim that your spouse are the best, but you've never tried my wife.
It's a matter of taste, mate.

considering most on this forum are new to mobile technology its just about taking each comment for what it is, for example the guy whose never owned a nokia, anything he has to say about them should be viewed as an unexperienced opinion and unless you acknowledge unexperienced views dismissed. everyones entitled to their opinion but there are times when some should keep the bs to themselves but cant control it. i respect others viewpoint but most people talk sh**, unfortunate but true.

Posted by gazobee
Don't hate Nokia. They just seem to be a little behind the times when it comes to tri-band phones. Hence me buying an Ericsson.

Now as for Orange. I bloody hate them!!

Posted by sinop1985
I had Nokia 5110,3210,3310,3330,6210,7110,8310. This phones are all the same. The displays of 8310 and 8210 are horrible. The features off all, are shit. Ericsson phones have better features and don`t cost much money.

I bought the 5110 for about 200 EURO. It`s too much for such a mobile phone. A 8310 costs about 500 EURO. For the same price, i bought my SE t68i. For me it`s the best mobile phone.

I don't exactly hate Nokia's, but the fact that they release phones that look exactly the same, feel the same, act the same, expensive, and call it new, is absurd.

My last Nokia fell apart in my pocket after a few months of use, but that doesn't go for all Nokia's.

Either way, I'll just go for the best looking phone and most useful, and right now that's the T68i, and if Nokia made something better, I'd probably go for it too (Even with bad experiences with Nokia phones).

Posted by brownjs
i still use a nokia 3210
inh=fact it is the only phone i have
i want t68 in gold but finding it hard to get in UK

Posted by evoke
Come on decoy7 thats not true for eveyone. I've had several nokias over the last 7 years of using mobile phones and i would guess a lot of people using this forum would have a fair bit of experience with mobiles?? Ed

@decoy7

I'm afraid you were a bit quick when you started dragging me throug the mud.
If you had taken the time to do a wee bit of research before replying in such a "look at me"-way you would have seen that I've been in this forum for quite some time. OK, you did your reply from your T68i, even still...
I do agree that my reply, after having reread it just now, on the Nokias did sound a bit "unexperiesed", and if your meaning of "unexperienced" is someone who decides what phones a fair size company should use, someone who have phones of all makes thrown after them for trial, someone who have tried and tested more phones than they remember, someone who are called up by their supplier at any time of day for advice on Ericsson phones, someone who been in the mobile buisniess since 1997, (all this you would have found in previous posts Ive done) then yes, I do agree 100% with what you say.
For your defence in this matter: Due to work matters I, Thanks to Laffen, had my username changed not too long ago.
I'm not after an argument and I don't mind being critisized, but I do dislike when people talk without thinking and claim to be more experienced without knowing it for a fact.
I don't know what you are doing for a living, but now you know what I do, so it will be up to you to judge who is more experienced than the other here.
After all this: Yes, I think makes better phones than Nokia.

Posted by clark27
lately i found nokia so boring because of their same old features but my first phone was nokia 6110 i think this unit is good

Posted by bart
nokia has got bad design and i don't like the menu, menu navigation.the had very bad schreens the T28s had a good screen better ten the 3510 of today only a bit smaller.the name nokia its says it self: say no to nokia!
ericsson has always been good and now sony ericsson 2 so i'll stay whit them.
thats my opinion!

Posted by decoy7
Tranquil,

i dragged you through the mud?

your a bit too serious chap, my comments are an opinion, i dont care who agrees.

aren't you the poster previously known as KS who requested an id change because your original id was your surname and someone advised you not to use your surname on the web? ...what was all that about?

Posted by riflogic
I have had 5 Nokias before jumping to Nokias are the same phones. The pnly thing that changes with Nokias is the design and thats about it!! Nokia are always lacking behind in technology as well. Tri-band can be a good example. Also, my last phone was Nokia6310 and I was pissed off that after a couple of weeks they released the same phone with java and tri-band functionality known as the 6310i; when I requested Nokia to upgrade me to 6310i they refused. In addition, they are too many bugs. The first shipment of any model is beta testing....

Do you really expect me not to hate Nokias??

Posted by liviliam
I have had only two phones that were not of Nokias design.
1st my last mistake was a samsung A300 what a horrible piece of equipment that was, Enough said.
my 2nd a SonyEricsson T68i the best phone ive ever purchased.
There is only 2 things i dont particularly like about the T68i
1. The batterylife is somewhat unpredictable.
2. The AutoPowerClock or whatever it's called.

Other than these two minor details i am completely head over heals for my new phone and as far as i'm concerned Nokia can take a J Edwards style jump of a short pier.

Are you out of your mind??

I've had 6110, 8210, 8310, none of which were anything special, all were basically the same. Ok so evry1 knows how to use a nokia coz they're all aimed at every1s 6year old brother and about as feature-packed as my left foot. My 8310 crashed several times a day from the first day i got it until the day i launched it in disgust and went and bought my T68 - my first ever Ericsson and it definitely won't be my last.

Geez boys..

I may have been a bit strong worded
Sorry about that. But i do think that TH is way overpriced.

a reason why a person may hate someone is when this person was betrayed by this someone. nokia may have betrayed a lot of people. nokia betrayed their older fans by producing "cheap" but over priced phones. their expectations were not met. only the advertising was improved, not the phones. plus....all the other reasons/gripes mentioned all over the forums. so...no need to be surprised why some people really hate nokias.

Ericsson is GREAT...

Posted by djlsharpe
First off I have a TAG Heuer and I like it a lot ! even though its a $5 quartz in a $50 case I wear it everyday because it is tough and accurate but I do own a swiss automatic chronograph also , but you know these days a watch is just jewelery as I could use the clock in my T68i ! or the NTP adjusted time on my computer.
Basically I have owned/used/tested a lot of cellphones and I can say without reservation that I really HATE the Motorola Timeport basically because of the interface, voice quality was good etc its probably a great phone with a real bad UI design, in fact I don't know anyone in AT&T Wireless that likes the thing ! That said I have a T68i and I love it and I have had Ericsson phones for years and generally preferred them to Nokias. I liked the fact that a lot of the phones had a metal substrate (including my T28w) I get phones to test and I currently have a Nokia 3590 to play with and so far I like it, its no T68 but then its doesn't cost even half. I will be going back to my T68i as soon as the testing is done. On the customer service side Ericsson is generally better than Nokia, they will replace dropped phones under warranty (in my experience) whereas Nokia will charge to repair, and they will as we know upgrade firmware, which keeps the customers happy. I am looking forward to getting a P800 someday !! I really think some people just buy Nokia so they can get covers to match their outfits...
