nooooo dont do that just yet, remember when i told you how to use your computer mic as a karaoke type machine, well i think your music might be crackily because you havent muted the mic, you need to turn off the mic and mute it before you play music, you can do this by ticking the mute box in sound properties in the bottom right hand corner off your desktop

hope this helps

done that. some songs dont play at all. even with the mic out

what file type is it and what programs are you using to play them, also what error messages do you get if any

haha i had this problem, and the port where i plug in the speakers was loose, and one of the wires was about to come off of the motherboard (mine isnt a whole card, just the one that comes with the computer) i soddered it, and now its fine

no error messages. it only happens with certain songs. all mp3.

ok they work fine in windows media player but the program i am using must bugger them up for some reason. i am using shareaza. i know its naughty to use that but i only use it sometimes

ps where do you get the avatars from?

lol its a secret

Shareaza uses direct show to play audio files, so it could be a direct x problem. Have you installed a newer version of direct x lately? If you want to check, click 'start', 'run' and type in dxdiag. It'll tell you what version you have.

Other than that, I don't know! If the files play OK in other players but not shareaza, I can only assume that it's either a codec problem or a problem with the software itself. Get yourself a download of Winamp while you still can, it's the best all round player there is, in my opinion

i have 9.0. i did the the tests and it says no problems found. i dont think itste direct x though, especially since i have a new version.

agreed about winamp and your own skins are easy to make for winamp which makes it cool too lol

its easier to open up songs in shareaza. if i use other programs and double click on songs and wait for them to load it takes ages and i have to use two programs. i think its just my pc thats messed up. just froze a minute ago and then came back on and it said my display drivers had failed. it has done this before so i might find some updated drivers.
