Well, we all know that t610,t630,k700, s700, didnīt have the required API for java to acess the BT port

Well, that change with new phone like k600, k750, w800

So can some of the new k750 owners test this apps:

BT explorer

freejack - in this one i think you have to change the phoneīs date to 2004 to avoid expired message

bloover

mobiluck (this is the 6230 version, but i think they can make a dedicated SE version in the next months)

http://rapidshare.de/files/1970404/bluetooth_java_apps.zip.html

Also, it would be good if two k750 users could join together and test some bluetooth multiplayer java games like Fatal Force (macrospace) - be sure to use s60 or 6230 version on both phones

Finally, and knowing k750 also supports the java API to acess PIM functions (calendar, phonebook, file exploreretc), it would be really good to find and test some apps like the ones that already exist for Siemens: calendar apps, txt reader (without having to put the txt file inside the jar), etc

Anyone???

Posted by ares
No one tested this???

I think only a very limited number of people on Esato would have even touched Java developement on SE phones.

I have some experience (only through a course module) of developing a web service using the Java emulator, but I'm not sure if the phone even includes the APIs for this either.

Perhaps having a look around here will lead to the answer to your question about the supported APIs?

Anyone tried this???

Posted by marran
why do u need a chat app for bluetooth?
it only reach 10 metres.

Posted by Jim
Students might see a good solution to cheat during test and exams or just chatting while listening to a boring old freak

Posted by ares
In places without walls it can easily go some more than the oficial 10 meters my friend...and even with walls i have situations were i got more than 10 meters (i was far from my pc, and fma was still conected)

It can be usefull in situations where you canīt talk, or there are lots of noise: classes, conferences, football sadiums, etc

Also, it allows several conections at the same time: chatrooms

Itīs a nice app IMHO

Another java bluetooth chat app...this one looks VERY GOOD

http://www.my2thing.com/index.html

Posted by Coxy
Im likin the BTexplorer but the others i dont think are as good as u have to have other users. Btexplorer is good for bluejackin!!!

Posted by ares
Yeah, the others require that all the users have the same app running...it woulld be good if some of this chat apps became standard for most phones Then it would be easy to find ppl for chatting in public places

Posted by obiwk

But review soon my2thing.com and you will find that it can be installed and run on almost every device with bluetooth api .
Also it will go on smartphones with windows mobile 2003 OS or newer...

So on the topic, soon my2thing will be released and for all Sony-Ericsson handests which support BT.

Kind regards,

vectorz, you need to find other people with the same app installed for it to be usefull

thereīs other programs that let you bluejack

Just got chat2u running on k750i but need it to work on 6230 what type of file does it need to be to run on dirty nokia?

Hey, me and a friend are unable to play FatalForce together - we simply have no idea how to connect. Are we using the wrong version? We downloaded the one from yer first post, but is there a newer one? Or is there a way to connect, but we have no clue what we are doing?

Posted by riksox
Nice feature! Good possibilities.. I'll test all these apps as soon as I go out to some place with lots of people.
