I think I have read most of the posts but I didn't see this one mentioned:
Put the "record sound" (under entertainment menu) as your first shortcut. Then, when speaking with sb you may press the middle button and then the joystick (for ok) and then you record your call. At least for the swedish firmware it is possible (you are allowed to secretly record all conversations you take part in yourself), I believe there could be legal problems in some countries and therefore this may not be possible for all firmwares.

hello, i own a w800 and so far i haven't been able to "fast forward" or "fast rewind" when a movie is being played. is it possible to do that or not? i tried moving once or holding joystick to right or left but it doesn't work.if i move it once, the phone skips to next video; if i hold it, nothing happens.
also, is there a "pause" option when a movie is being played, cause i haven't found it.

i hope these qwestions haven't been asked before, i haven't read the whole thread.

Dont have w800 so I cant say and I havent done a search. I wouldnt recommend doing a reset as I doubt it will do anything. I just happened to see on another forum someone said press 4 and 6 to fast fwd and rewind. Try that

Is it just me or does the K750i not allow browsing via Bluetooth?

Posted by coo1k3n
Yes, the K750i supports bluetooth file browsing.

Hi! I don't know if this was already said before... Did you know that you can also change the channel of your FM Radio even if it's on minimized mode, just press and hold the volume button on the side.. same thing on how you skip songs on MP3 playlist.

Just to clarify, did you mean bluetooth browsing via a computer, or bluetooth browsing via two phones- for example browsing someone elses phones' data over bluetooth?

I think they mean browsing another phone or pc's files from the handset, which unfortunantly SE decided was a security risk and saw it unnecessary to continue with that feature in the K750 and later.

Posted by M3JMI
@coo1k3n

Phone to phone

My old K700i could do it

Posted by max_wedge
all K700's can. Not possible with K750 or later.

Posted by coo1k3n
I was talking about this on a another forum- thank god they took this feature out (as nifty as it is ) cuz i don't want now random stranger looking at my files!

Posted by link14
thnx for the infos....

Posted by baste07
good thing they took that out... im hoping that someone developes an application for the k750 which can record fm broadcast

Actually someone could only use the file browsing feature to browse your fuiles if they were paired with your phone already, (and your phone had it's bluetooth on of course).

Posted by butn
is there any way i could browse the files of another phone through bluetooth?

Posted by max_wedge
only between the pre K750 SE handsets.

Posted by baste07
is there a sw that can allow to play mpg movies?

Posted by rockygali
yes theres a software for that.. for K750s i dont think so.

i guess java cant handle such video types..

whats the difference between li-polymer batteries and the rest?

Posted by rockygali
i think lithium batteries is a low-maintenance battery... meaning you dont hafta do sorts of stuff that you usually do to your ordinary batteries like cadmium and stuff similar to it...

well for further enrichment you can visit here.

ciao!

:S so li-polymer and lithium are the same? no difference at all besides the name?

i already visited that website and has nothing about li-polymer

Posted by max_wedge
lithium poly and Li-on batteries are both based on lithium and both are zero maintence batteries. Neither of these need to be run dead before charging and also they don't suffer from memory affect.

while browsing files using file manager, i pressed the keypad, the letters came out in the upper right corner, i thought it will highlight the file with first letter, like in contacts, but its not, so what are those letters for if not to highlight the file? btw my FW is R1L

Is it always necessary to rechardg a battery fully (let's say I went down to 40% and recharge till 70%) will it do any harm?

Grtz

Posted by curmurdar
K750/W800 have Li-Polymer batteries. These batteries are maintenance free. So it will do no harm if you don't fully charge them. You can charge anytime. These batteries have no "memory effect" like the older Ni-cd or Ni-Mh batteries. For more information take a look at www.batteryuniversity.com

Regards.

ok, i just found this out, i just test 2 mspd on k750i, i played mp3 on 32mb mspd and after 2 hours the battery is 93% while on playing mp3 on 2gb mspd after 2 hours the battery is only 76%. so i think of your an mp3 buff, getting 2gb mspd will drain your battery faster.

right now, after 8 hours of playing mp3 in the 2gb, i still have 13% battery, so i think it will reach around 10 hours before draining out the battery

Posted by Enrico19
Does anybody know how I can make the ringtone play the same as if I play it in mp3 player?

Posted by gatorsquid
Is there another button aside the camera button on the side to take picture? Because my camera button is broken and SE don't have the spareparts here yet and it's been 2 months or more i think

A reply from Sony Ericsson:

With regards to your enquiry, it is not the case that the battery life of the Sony Ericsson K750i and W800i decreases more rapidly when a higher capacity memory stick is used.

I have the w800i, and use multisync to transfer contacts to the phone. I put in neat stuff like address information, which is correcly stored in the contacts. However the only way to view contact information other than numbers and emails is to attempt to edit the contact. I have looked all through the user guide to find the bit where it allows you to view all the contact information for a particular contact, but can't find it. Is there away to browse all the contact information for a contact.

Any clues?

Posted by max_wedge
nah, you just need to click more and edit contact - it's the only way I know of. Don't think there is any other way.

I couldn't do the lock menu

Posted by Xajel
I don't know if this was mentioned already in the last pages ( except 1 and 20 )..

While viewing pictures using the horizontal view, you can use numbers 1 and 3 to zoom in/out rather than the normal volumes control ( 3 for zoom in, 1 for zoom out ) I found it some times usefull as you don't need to use both your hands to do some zooming job...

You can quickly take another photo after phone says "saving" by pressing the shutter button halfway in.
6 seconds on small setting (fine)
10 seconds on large (fine)

Excellent tip!

But why can't the phone save the picture at the same speed without us having to press the 'camera shoot' button half-way in anyways?

It's not a real tips and tricks, but a not well know function.

Go to organizer Menu
Notes
New note (if need)
then select note and choose more menu
finally the tips : Show in standby

You get your note on the screen

Enjoy

P.S. : support smileys

what do you have to press to get "<" on your phone?

"<" or ">" means that you have to move the joystick to the left or to the right
