This offer no longer available from OSPS. They changed the offer to 6 months line rental at £2.99 now! Too late guys!

Just order mine last night and will let u guys know about the branding etc after I got it. The company now own by CPW and hopefully there won't be any branding at all!

alex: how does the 8months free rental work?? is the compnay reliable?? cos ive heard of comps offering free line rental but when you go to claim it they either dont exist anymore or refuse to give you the claim
Posted by batesie
your still engaged into a 12 month contract, you get 8 months free then the 12 month contract starts....
so effectivly its a 20 month contract with the first 8 months free...
Posted by Pagnell
Vodacrap are to be avoided. Their branding is even worse than Orange - they ruin phones.

sid_812, u have to send them the copy of month 4, 8 ,12 bill with the claim form to claim the money back. I am waiting for my £100 with my Orange SPV C500 at the moment. Hopefully it would be with me in next 2 weeks time. onestopphone has became a division of CPW in 2005 so I think they are reliable. http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk/about.php

batesie, it does not work in that way. They offer the 8 months free line rental by cah claims in month 4, 8 and 12. Sometimes it's including half price line rental for 3 months. For example, u got 3 months half price line rental then u claim £60 back on month 4, £60 back on month 8 then £75 back on month 12 and this make up to £240 = 8 months free line rental.

Pagnell, I am not so sure about the branding thing cause I haven't receievd the phone yet. CPW they do sell phones without any branding at all. I got my Moto V3 on O2 with them and it don't even have the O2 screen saver stuffs etc. If I were lucky enough then I might have a unbranded phone. The Voda version of K750i do have a different design though. http://www.vodafone-emailme.c[....]F6E49BBAA7FED38D4CB542902609F5
Posted by Pagnell
O2 are the best network for releasing phones with hardly any branding. At most you get a startup animation (which can be turned off or changed), a screensaver (again can be turned off or changed) and the wap/gprs session button in the menu might have an O2 logo on it.
Besides, Vodacrap sponsor Man U and no one with any sense would want to be associated with them. Then again, the same could be said for O2 and Arsenal.........

The phones from OSPS are apparently black, which might indicate they're the standard non-Vodafone ones..?

i also saw another k750 offer over at
http://thesonyericsson.blogspot.com/
for 3 network

Here's some hot off the press info from the cpw and how to get the k750i really cheap!
Ok the phone will be in stores tomorrow or friday:
K750i = Free on £30 tariffs and up
So
1st 6 months £30 x 6 = £180
Last 6 months £15 x 6 =£90
Total = £270
You get a cheque back after 4 months for £90
Which means the phone costs £180 over the year!
Not bad in my view!

It is even better than that because you are completely ignoring the free minutes and texts you get within that year. With O2 on a £30 tariff that would be 400 minutes to any landline or network and 100 texts for the first 6 months than half that for the second 6 months. That is as good as getting the phone for nothing.
People in the US can't believe how good we have it over here when it comes to contracts - in the end after taking the contract benefits into account we get the phones for virtually nothing - things are different over there apparently.

i phoned up these guys about this deal today, and before i agreed anything i asked him about the 8 months free and whether the phone was branded at all...
branding: "all our phones are sim-free" "yes you can put any network sim in it"
8 months free: "no you dont have to do anything to get your 8 months free, we will send you a cheque on months 4, 8, and 12"
so i was sold on it! even if it turns out i have to send my bills in, im sure ill manage
plus if it does turn out to be voda-branded after all, ill just return it using my 14-day guaruntee.
that should help everyone make up their mind

Just make sure u read the term and conditions b4 u switch on your phone. Otherwise they might not let u return the phone even if the phone is branded. I am still waiting for my though. Vodafone phone still doing a credit check on me even though I have 4 O2 accounts at the moment. Vodafone phone r just so slow!
Posted by tomg
If they do come unlocked, couldn't you just put another network's SIM in it to see if it's branded or not?

tomg, of course u could do it that way to check whether the phone is unbrabded or not. The problem is some of the supplier won't let u return the phone once u have made any calls or using the phone so make sure u fully understand their return policy b4 u use the phone.
Posted by paragers
yea that was also questioned. guy said "you can have a play about on the phoen, but dont use any calls or texts" when i asked him if there was still a 14-day returns policy...
Posted by tomg
Okay, thanks... so can I just check this....
I can order this phone, with the £110 Vodafone deal, take it out the box, turn it on, shove another SIM in it, check to see if it's been branded and crippled... and if it has, send it back within 14 days?
According to One Stop Phone Shop's terms and conditions, "If you use the equipment you will be deemed to have accepted the contract unless the equipment is subject to a trial period."
How do they define "using the equipment"? I take it they won't be able to tell if I've merely turned the phone on?
Thanks!
Posted by paragers
yea that was my plan, im gonna use my o2online pay&go sim in it, turn it on, see if its branded. if it is return it. if they make a fuss, refer to the nice man who told me i could do that on the phone
anyway all this is stupid, since its most likely gonna be a sim-free model, as the nice man also said. but you just never know...
Posted by tomg
And I can just pretend I was you... and your nice man told me
Posted by paragers
exactly!
one other thing, the nice man told me i probbly wont be gettin it until monday, because they are waiting on their stock coming in... but im in no hurry, if this deal is as good as it seems to be
Posted by tomg
Plus by the time we get it, other people will have hopefully have received theirs... and can alert us to branded nonsense, for a swift pre-delivery cancellation!
Posted by alexho
I know the Voda branded phone should come with a Vodafone sticker instead of the QuickShare sticker so if the phone has a Quick Share sticker then I assume it is a unbranded handset.

Anyone else got any further than "Awaiting connection to Mobile Network" in their order status..?

tomg, I called OSPS today and they told me the latest delivery day would be next Tuesday. Hope this help!
Posted by paragers
haha yea you right about 7months, well i ordered when it was 8 so i had damn well better get 8!
Posted by nridgway
Tomg - I had "Awaiting connection to Mobile Network" as in my order status so I rang them up, they said that the order had gone onto an old ordering system and they cancelled the order and re did it. I was also told they were getting a delivery this weekend and it would be with me by tuesday.
They also offered me a Nokia 6610 on the same tariff for £30 for the year aswell as the K750 (through redemption) I think this is only offered on telephone orders.
Posted by tomg
Mine's been dispatched!
So we'll soon find out how much branding their is...
Posted by tomg
!!!!!!!
And the offer is now "6 Months Line Rental at £2.99"
Meaning the minimum contract term cost is £188.97
We got a bargain
Posted by red hot sheep
That is so annoying! I was about to order this two days ago (at £110 all in), and now its £188!!!! :@

I cannot seem to find this deal - can you post a link?

Try http://www.carphonewarehouse.[....]odel=SEK750I&price=from%20Free
I would get it if it was O2 in a second!.

Hey guys .... just got the phone from Onestopphoneshop.com, is really sim-free no any branding at all. And I am on the 8 months free deal. It will supply you 3 vouches for claim the cash back at 4, 8, 12 months. Sounds good .....
so the phone is £120 for a year
Posted by kingofevil
(http://www.e2save.com also have a good deal. Free phone, 25 pounds a month and 120 pounds cashbacks. Works out to £180.) The other deals seem better but they have a £14 text bundle included chargeble at month 6 onwards. I'm not sure how that guy worked out the carphonewarehouse deal (Taken 12 months half price instead of 6).
EDIT: IMPOSSIBLE!!! The deal deal at e2save JUST changed (within last 15mins maximum). Damnit (very bad luck)!

Phillipe, glad to know that your K750i has got no branding at all! Mine has been dispatched today and hopefully would be with me tomorrow! Got to go to O2 Shop to have a refund then!
Posted by kingofevil
Have you tried another sim to see if its sim-locked or just unbranded?
EDIT: the onestopphoneshop offer works out to £158, if you can cancel the text bundle, £242 if you can't.

kingofeveil, how do u work out £158. My phone would cost me
£360 - £240 ( 8 months free ) - £10 ( order online discount ) = £110
Of course U could cancel the text bundle after 6 months. Cheers!
Posted by kingofevil
The 8 months free is not on anymore (these deal change fast).
Current deal at OSPS:
6x 2.99 = 17.94
6x 30 = 150
150+17.94 = 167.94
167.94-10 = 157.94
EDIT: Just read terms+conditions. The 157.94 works out like this.
Pay £30 for 12 months = 360
Cashback of £67.35 at month 4, 8 and 12 (67.35 x 3 = 202.06)

kingofeveil, it seems u miscaculate the price. How come 6 x £30 = £150?????
so the total should be like £17.94 + £180 -£10 = £187.94
Posted by kingofevil
Thanks for correction. Starting to get irritated now.
Ok, £187.94 at onestopphoneshop.com
Cashback is £57.35 every four months.
Doesn't look that great now.

Isn't the £15 x 6 for the last 6 months the same as the £90 back, so the total is still £270?

What he mean is u could change the tariff after 6 months so u could change it to the £16 O2 25 tariff but not £15 as stated!
Posted by red hot sheep
So let me get this straight:
It's 6 months of 2.99 line rental = 17.94
And 6 months of 30 line rental = 197.94
Minus 10 cashback = 187.94
Isn't that still a great deal? Sim free its nearly £300, and this gets you 200 minutes a month!
Posted by kingofevil
Yeah its still a good deal just not as good as the original 8 months free.
2400mins anytime any network, 1500 texts for first 6 months and k750i. All for £187.94.
Posted by red hot sheep
So if you tell them to cancel the textsaver thing after 6 months, is the 187.94 all you ever need to pay? And after the 12 months, could you cancel the contract altogether, and use it pay as you go?
