Couldn't have been worse. Even the staff at the outlets was not conversant with the package plans. The website was not ready till noon and became available only late in the day and what a rubbish site. It appears that you will first need to buy a package, then be able to register on the website to explore it. All in all a total dissapointment. If al-warid does not improve fast it will probably soon be bought by Mobilink but for me first impression is the last impression and I am going to stay away from this crappy company

Friends and family has 5 choices but they can only be chosen from warid numbers. GPRS charges are 50 rupee per month for getting the services and 3 rupees per 200 kb for data. Hope some one tells in deep detail how they charge for it. Call rates are some impressive. But until every one switches to warid even its call rates are also not very very impressive. Customr support is very very very poor. SO THIS LAUNCH IS NOT IMPRESSIVE AT ALL.

I was so excited abt the Warid but today in newspaper I saw their advertisement I saw a line in that " Introducing 30 Second billing as opposed to per minute" what u guys think now is this affordable thing that from now we gona pay them for a call after every 30 seconds ???. Is that right guys wht i conclude ??

Ya i think its great bout dat billing per 30 seconds bcaz d earlier mobile services charge per minute which means dat if the call rate is 2 rupees per minute and u talk For 1 minute and some seconds den u will b charged for 2 minutes which means 4 rupees . On d other hand if it is per 30 seconds ( which means 1 rupee per half a minute) den talking for d same time u will b charged for 1.5 minute which means 3 rupees. So its better in my view point

hmm ..thats gr8 if Warid offers a 30 seconds discrete billing .. means U dont have to worry too much about that extra second over a minute

umerhayat dude i think u just dont want to admit the fact tht warid is way cooler than any other mob operator.. Well as the news revolves warid's tarrif is better than any other mobile operator till now...
30 sec call means if yr call is of Rs.2/min then it will b charged Rs1 if u call less or equal to 30 sec... and there r 3 outlets right now in Karachi and about the support center think u ppl have forgotten the mobilink call center or ufone when it launched its sim last year the showroom's glasses were broken n stuff so dude let it set up first then give yr openion abt the company right now just see the tarrifs and features.

i dont really think that the rates are that attractive! All the offers are specifically for warid to warid only. Such is not the case with telenor which has a very simple billing syste, i.e they are charging a uniform rate to all outgoing calls. My personal thought is, u have all the right in the world to disagree with me, that warid's billing system is too complicated. Their advertisements were a good example to show the world that they wana confuse everyone and their website also signalled the same. There is no mention of inter-connect charges anywhere, no mention where free minutes can be utilised etc. Plus their UAN # was busy for the whole day, web-site was down, and the sales personnel knew shit about the packages and stuff. It was only the second day that they printed the full length advertisements in the newspapers about how their packages really looked like. I could have construed that may be intentionally they made it all so vague.
Telenor in the other hand, had their web-site fully operational the very first day they started selling their connecitons in pakistan. Their GPRS was working as well as their missed call alerts. Only for first few days there was trouble getting the post-paid connections, other then this minor glitch all was well at their end. As umerhayat told us the in Faisalabad their was no signal of warid for 4-5 hours, this may highlight what targets they have thought about.
I think what they should do is make their billing system as simple as possible so that even an illterate person in Pakistan can also get hold of their package plans. By the way, our leader in the cellular industry, Mobilink is also following the same strategy, i.e. to confuse the people at large!!

man i think u sont know tht telenor also suffered for 2 weeks if u dont know i know cause i also suffered with it and many ppl did and i m with mobilink since the start but v r only discussing and i thought warid have the best rate till date

Today i got my gprs activated on warid which cast me 50 rupees and will keep on casting 50 rupees per month. Hope they cut off these charges soon. This time gprs working ok. But i tell after one two days that how is it going. Regards. Umer

As compared with UFONE, Warid is costly in GPRS. because they charge 50Rs per month... Don't know the speed of waird's GPRS.. but i am disappounted on there GPRS Tarrif. i am permanent user of Ufone.. GPRS. and we have only 2 service provider with GPRS here in Abbottabad. 1.wardi and 2.Ufone.... and i am calling 321from morning till midnight to get GPRS manual setting for my iMATE SP3... and they don't answer.. so i am planning to stick with Ufone... and don't want to change the service provider.
any body knows when the Telenor is coming to the city of pines "Abbottabad"????

Comtrak,the purpose of my post was to share with rest of the world what my experience is like of usingTelenor Pakistan's services! If u had bad experience with them,that doesnt bother me as long as i m not troubled by them and i am satisfied with their service.
If u think that warid is the best among the lot then buy loads of connections for urself, dont try to impose ur thinking over others!!!

I have been a long time user of mobile phones and the service providers of Pakistan. I think im capable of reviewing which is good and which sucks when it comes to providing the right service in Pakistan. I have used all of the sims in Pakistan and i have obtained feedback from all of the users and generated my own report on which company is good, great and excellent while avoiding the bad ones. So lets begin each of them one by one, beginning from:-
Mobilink:-
I know its loyal users will disagree with me but man this company is horrible, i mean look at its advertisments and fake muscle power on the TV newspapers and everywhere you see on the streets (even on the airport of Islamabad , when you step out , you see its sign board to impress new and innoncent customers).
Yes, it is the largest mobile company in Pakistan (65% coverage penetration) but when it comes to good service it goes kaputtt.
Lets begin with simple call, its netwok dies off without any reason, specially in the evening time beginning from 6 to 10 PM.
I have seen people helplessly redialing the numbers on their mobile phones and PCO and whenever i asked them who are they calling (meaning which network in a technical way) and they always replied some Mobilink number. They try ringing to some other network and the bells always goes but not to mobilink.
Then its the sms, or the slow messaging service in mobilinks point of view, my friend sent an Eid Mubarak sms from mobilink to another number and it reached the other party the next day, he was lucky to get it as most of the time, the sms from the mobilink side just disappear.
Sometime they deduct money from your account without any reason, my friends 70 Rs. were gone when he just sent a single sms, we called the service center of mobilin k and they didnt even know what is going on.
Mobilink tariff rates are not so good too and if you call someone using mobilink then be prepared to re-charge you account soon.
The good part of mobilink is its coverage range in Pakistan, its really vast so you dont need to fret when you go to some far places in Pakistan. We went on a trip somewhere in murree i think and nones phone was working (no signals) except for Mobilink owners phones.
But their connection problem doesnt seems to go away, all the time u see on the ads them saying , we're sorry that tonight we will do some maintenane to upgrade our network. but its been a year im seeing that and still no use,it still sucks. Today i saw another notice from Mobilink about PTCL's fiberoptic going bobo so moblink customers will have some connection problems, great, now its PTCLs fault, why dont others like Ufone, Telenor, Warid get affected from this fibre optic thingy?
So my friend, this was long as it has long list of customers, my friend has switched to another provider after getting sick and tired of it, so Mobilink should be name Maybelink....
Ufone:-
Its the most reliable connection ever, its half owned by the government (PTA) and halp private. I have been personally using this one for over 3 years and its reliable. From quick and fast sms receving and sending to excellent GPRS connectivity, to its professional service center to fast connectivity.
When they need to do some maintenane work, they will send u a sms telling u when they will do the fixing, i got a sms once telling me they will start the maintenance work at 3 am and at 4 (something like 5 am may be) it will be back online. Luckily i was awake that night and right on 3 am, the netwok went down as they had promised and when it was 4 or 5 am, it was back online again, now this is what i call fulfilling your promise.
Ufone loves to bother u to buy a new connection instead of changing the ownership. this is a bad spot on Ufone.
Sometimes the GPRS connection doesnt connect in the first try so u have to try again.
You have to visit their wbsite to get the phone settings for GPRS, not like before in which they emailed me the whole settings made on Microsoft Powerpoint and also sent me an sms with the settings included, excellent!
Remember than Ufone is the only compnay which enables u to send international sms for 1.50 rs. thats excellent for me and those who send sms outside Pakistan, and yes, they reach everyhwhere in the world in seconds!
Other than these two, i dont have anything else bad to say about U, they are excellent and if you like a company who brought u GPRS MMS Internet in the first place in good ol' Pakistan then get Ufone.
Telenor:-
You can call telenor a little brother of Ufone (even though theyre not related). Their sound clarity is really excellent and exceeds the quality of Ufone.Their GPRS is a fast connecting one than Ufone as its EGPRS(Enhanced). The easy load facility just rocks, as i love the idea of re-charging my account from 10 to 1000 Rs. with unlimited validity.
SMS works good too but a little slow but it reaches its destination , unlike Mobilink with its disappearing sms.
International sms dont come on telenor and i dont know why, the serivice people said they have to register their network outside the country to solve this problem, they better do that as it sux man.Also international sms is 5 Rs. also.
The bad points are online call center, they love to make you wait about 5 to 7 minutes and then answer ur call. They do that on purpose to filter out the genuine callers from the simple problem callers. Hey, if you have a serious probelm, u will wait 10 minutes to talk to them and if you dont then u will hang up, this way the telenor people save their time and helps them focus on the real problems.
GPRS sometimes goes offline , this hapens very rarely but it does happen, once its online then its very fast to browse the net.
Telenor is the king when it come to connectivity, i mean u can pick up the phone and just dial , it will connect, do that at anytime and it will connect, Ufone does that too but sometimes you have to try two times to connect but not telenor.
My friends have told me that there is no disturbance or fluctuation when i call from Telenor and voice is crystal clear, this means their ads about crystal clear voice is true (They're using boosters from Nokia).
PakTel:-
Its a so so company, its for those who just want to make a call and then make another call and then again.... its not good for sms, no GPRS, no MMS no nothing.
It has connectivity problems and its service call center lines sound like someone is talking to you while sitting on a footpath near a busy bazar as you can hear horns in the background.
Its not a good company if you ask me, i used it, disliked it and now my new paktel sim is rotting at my home, they tried to inform me to re-charge it or else they will disbale my sim and i didnt give a damn,They gave me a grace period again and i still didnt give a damn, as they sucked. I used to receive calls and when i pushed the call receive button, then presto, no sound from the callers side, this happened many many times as it was embarassing as i got many international calls and couldnt receive them thanks to Del to aik hai mantra of Paktel. Also i sent many sms and nothing reached me. So my paktel sim is duabled now and no, i dont miss it!

I dont know much about this new baby other than that it has a bad case of rushing everything to compete with the big boys in PK. Most of the problem u people already no, no call center serives (offline) strange and horrible website (Try registering to apply for a job and u know what i mean) and for heavens sake be clear about the tariff thing man, they dont know about tariff and all they keep on bragging is this 30 seconds bla bla. 200KB downlaod is 3 Rs and it seems cheap to people but if you do math u will find that its same as Ufone and Telenor, 15 Rs per MB.
My friend bought Warid and he didnt even use it but his money started deducting from his account, he called the serice huys after long dialing and the lady on the oter side said that Warid has been receiving lots of complaints about vanishing money from warid accounts , so they will fix it. Some people have called to their friends to inform them of the good news (that they have a warid connection) and finding out in the end that their calls cost them double the amount which they were told on the ads. This is a new company so lets give it some time and c what happens.
So here it is my dears, if you have more questions then aks me, always here to help. These were my personal testing and experience and if you dont agee with me then u are free to do what you want as its a free world and ur free to do what u want.

Abu-Dhabi group has a vision of working in every sector in Pakistan through the current Government's liberlization policies. To see what they have already achieved in Pakistan, it is better that you visit Warid's website and see the areas of interest. From Banking to energy to telecom, they are excelling at a very fast pace.

Hi again. Telenor Gprs now not working for two days for me. I tried every thing from clearing cache, restart set and delete old settings and get the settings again. But non is working for me. Most funny part is that i called 3 times to the help line and got different answers every time. First and second time they told that they have no problem and no complain from fsd of any kind about gprs. So i kept on trying different things and wasted about half hour. But last night when i called they told that ptcl fibre optic is cut so some users are expericocing problems. I do not know whats going on. But telenor gprs down for me for two days in fsd. So now i am sitting back relaxing and using warid gprs. Regards. Umer

If i connect and then just disconnect the gprs on the warid after down loading few kb. It cast 3.80 rupees. And there are also the gprs monthly charges which are 50 rupees per month. So gprs is real time nightmare on warid. But yes call rates are good. But as i use gprs a lot so unit warid do not reduce the charges or give some monthly unlimited package of the gprs i will jump back to the telenor when its gprs work for me. Because its third day and its not connecting for me. Today help line say that gprs is ok. But on my sim its still not working. So may be my sim got effective or what i do not know about it. Some body please help me about it with some tips. Regards. Umer

Umer,i m based in islamabad.GPRS was down for a day or so here which they attributed to maintenance work being done. Since then its working nicely without any problem at its usual super-fast speed.E-messenger doesnt work on ufone,but it runs on Telenor! UFONE also use the same packets for charging GPRS as Telenor. Anybody using SE ever tried my friends using Yamigo?

@SE7. Ok man good for you. Here for last three days when ever when i try to connect the message comes that no gprs network area coverage. But today when i try to connect then G appears and keep on blinking and then message comes Gprs net work busy. So it can not be busy for hours and hours. There is some definate problem with it. What ever. Most sad thing is that help line people guide you wrong. For first two days they told me no problem in our Gprs in fsd so clear cache ,reset you hand set ,down load settings again and blah ,blah, blah. So i am sick of there bull shit now. YAMIGO some of my net friends have k700i also. They use it and they say its good. I my self as nokia fan use agile messenger and its good. I am satisfied with its performance. As i have not used yamigo so i can not compare both but hope some one who used both tell us difference soon. Regards. Umer

about SE My Friends, Yamigo and Ufone GPRS ,, yes I use it on a regular basis .. it rocks . I usually connect to MSN through it .. and the messages are sent n received just fine .. also notifies u like receiving an SMS ... U can select the polling interval from the yamigo website .. It can also retrieve the contacts from msn or yahoo or any other chat client that it supports ,,,should u need help connecting ... post it here

the Yamigo is good i used it on 6230 its good really but not good as Agile..and i don't want to use it any more bacause on agile it's like you are on yahoo or MSN clients.. agile is the best in the smartphone world... the best User interface in mobile messengers ... and any one got Telenor ... would you like to teel me something ..call your hepl line and ask them when they are going to start in The city of PINEs Abbottabad... and the WARID diappointed me in GPRS.... 3 Rs on 200Kb very bad terrif... but the call rates and SMS is also very good... the simple mobile user should go for Warid... but not the GPRS users..... i will wait and see the Warid till they will give fix GPRS rates like INDIGO...
and one thing more i think the best GPRS in the market in INDIGO.. in 750Rs monthly u can use unlimited GPRS in day use it on mobile and in night connect it with your PC and surf on it through your PC....

Adnan, i m using yamigo for quite sometime using K700i. The main problem that i face is that when click the box named fatch addresses on both Yahoo and MSN and then when i log into My Friends then nothing happens, i.e. no contact is added on My Friends. However, when i only click fatch address on yahoo then Yahoo contacts do appear on My Friends. MSN contacts i couldnot add todate, i dont know what is the problem, may be that contacts on MSN messenger are more then 30, coz i read somewhere that My Friends max capacity is 30 contacts in SE phones.
Now can u help me somehow so that i can add the MSN contacts also on My Friends?

@comtrack . My friend. We did all the micro math in previous posts to prove how expensive the warid gprs is this time. But i tell it again. So you get satisfied. On telenor when we connect it cast 1.08 rupees and there are also charges of the 0.64 kb that are 0.94 rupees. So if we connect and use data less than 64 kb then it cast in total 2.02 rupees. But on the warid as we are charged for 200 kb straight. So even if we use 10 kb and then dc it cast us 3.80 rupees. So in bulk it is same in price but on micro it cast more and our use is micro as messenger use micro bytes. There are also 50 rupees per month on warid for activation which no other company is charging. Regards. Umer

If you want to make calls and sms only. Then warid is good. Because call rates and sms are cheapest. But when you add gprs to it then telenor seems better. Because warid gprs is expensive. I rate the voice quality as follows. In our hostel all company signals are full. So if no signal problem then 1. Telenor 2. Warid 3. Ufone 4.Mobilink. Do not know about paktel or insta as i do not have them. But its my resonal view. Others must share there also. Regards. Umer

radarblip609.... the voice quality of warid is the best in Abbottabad... i use UFONE...the voice quality of UFONE is very bad ... Mobilink & Paktel is OK...Telenor is not available
here in Abbottabad. we have a serious problem of singnal dropping here in our city...

Hi again. Today i went to warid franchise with my friend he wanted to buy a sim i talked to them about over charging issue they said that there are problems in system due to that there is balance disappearing and other things. Hope they fix it soon
